It is coming down to the wire for the Alberta election. I thought it has been a very quiet election campaign in this riding. I do not know if that means the PCs are taking the rural vote for granted or not. Even though I am a card carrying member of the PC party I have been undecided how to vote on March 3. Unquestionably our local PC candidate is head and shoulders above the others, Stelmach is the best leader. But the EUB spying on farmers decided it for me. I cannot vote for a party that did that to farmers and basically condoned it afterward. Any pretense that the PCs were on the farmers side vanished with that bold move. Plus it is undemocratic to have one party in power for 40 plus years.
I will have to hold my nose on March 3 and it will not be a happy choice but my vote has to go to elsewhere this time around. I think the best thing for the PCs is to have it pointed out to them that they cannot take the rural vote for granted any more.
