Hello to all I had the opprotunity to attend this forum in Vancouver last week. It was a great experience. It was held at the same time as the CFA annual. There were people from all the provinces & translators were provided so the language barrier was not an issue. It was certainly refreshing to see young eager farmers all together discussing all the things they have to deal with.
What was really interesting was they were baisically all the same things. Credit,expansion,transition. We did have a gov't rep come in to explain the APF, you should have seen the disgust around the table.
You should see mention of this organization in your provinces soon. We are trying to set up some permanant funding across Canada to keep going. It is not a lobby group but simply an info gathering group for young farmers across Canada. Check out the web site & let me know your comments.There is some fear of duplication of groups coming from some of the provincial lobby groups but generally all are interested in trying to give young farmers a forum to go to for info.
