Free Trade?????????

With the imposition of the tariffs on wheat and durum recently by the United States on canadian grain, it becomes apparent the free trade deal is a big sick joke. It is only free trade for one side, the americans. They get and take everything they want, if you don't comply they send their army or starve you out by not buying what you produce. It is a double whammy when you live in a country that the federal government thinks that treats agriculture as an embarassment to society which produces a completely useless and valueless product, food. If the federal government had any integrity at all it would stand up and fight for its farmers like most of the governments in civilized countries around the world do. No hope till we get ride of Van Deaf, sorry Van Clief(thanks Muttley for that one) and his assistant the deputy that hates farmers.

You know it really bothers me what a bunch of spineless wimps we have in Ottawa! The only time they ever stood up to the Americans was when they refused to help slaughter Iraq! The Americans said"Oh we can't take a chance that Japan might be offended." Well what are we, chopped liver? We do 600 billion trade with America a year! More than anyone else! We are their great freinds...nice way to treat your freinds, hey?
Maybe Chretien should have told Bush our one tank was in the shop and we'd run out of ammo because the army forgot to register their guns, but otherwise we'd be more than happy to help them steal some oil! We could have rounded up some out of work Newfies or Saskatchewan farmers to dig latrines or something! You know make a show of support for George and Tonys little oil grab!
Maybe then we'd still be selling cattle across the border?

Maybe GM Armour in London, Ontario should have been shut down instead of working overtime building the LAV's the marines and US Army love driving around Iraq and Afghanistan.

Just a thought you all....if one of the reactions to this beef ban is a growing swell of anti Americanism in Western Canada...I can't help but think how pleased that must make our prime minister and those he surounds himself with.
Wasn't it our government who came up with the 7 year ban? Wasn't it our leaders who said to Japan " so what if the science is on your side"!
