Widely reported now that Canada will be in the second tier of vaccine coverage with contries like Mexico and Argentina. Referred to as emerging markets not the more prosperous G7 that we have been grouped with in the past.
Might as well get used to it.
I'm sure PMJT thought he was best buds with the Big Phama negotiators and didn't need to look to close at what the contracts actually said.
His charming personality gets him nowhere because his reputation is established around the world.

Non mRNA vaccine advancing in Sask. This is the one to wait for. Just kicked off clinical trials. Probably be ready before skippy gets our orders from the EU.
Again the west has to do everything ourselves.

So news on the vaccine front. Calgary company ignored, UofS company ignored.
New facility being built now in Montreal with govt funds to manufacture (non Canadian company) Novovax vaccine, production to start later this summer. That means Canadians wont get vaccinated until end of 2022 likely.
Guess that means no pfizer or moderna or J&J doses are coming anytime soon.
What a colossal f up.Last edited by jazz; Feb 2, 2021, 11:16.

If you assume that Canadians health and financial well-being was the desired outcome, then yes.
But if you accept that the desired outcome was funneling lots of taxpayer dollars to friends and family in Quebec, This has been a spectacular success.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Feb 2, 2021, 11:22.

Canada does not have, nor have ever had vaccine production facilities capable of mass producing mRNA vaccines. Would you have supported a Trudeau call for building such facilities before the pandemic and before the development of mRNA vaccines?
Pfizer was never part of warp speed, and never took any government money from any country for the development of the mRNA vaccine. They are making all the vaccine in their own facilities so if Canada has no Pfizer plant, how is a lack of production of the Pfizer vaccine in Canada a Trudeau problem?
Astra Zeneca, Johnson and Johnson, Sanofi, Merck's, GSK, and Bristol Myers all had vaccine production facilities in Canada and all 6 of these companies closed or downsized their Canadian vaccine production operations between 2007 and 2011. Tell me Jazz, what party was in government in Canada from 2007 and 2011 when these plants closed? Is the movement of vaccine production out of Canada a Trudeau Liberal or Conservative problem?
In August 2020 the Trudeau government pledged 126 million for building the vaccine production facility in Montreal as well as funding for production facilities in Saskatoon and Vancouver; before any vaccines were approved. They are under construction. What more do you think he should have done/contributed to re vaccine production facilities.
Have you seen the contracts Canada signed with Pfizer and Moderna? Do you know delivery schedule contracted?
Canada makes a deal to make Noravax vaccine in Canada:

Any new Canadian based vaccine manufacturing facilities when they come on line will be after the fact for this virus outbreak. However, going forward they will be a great asset to the health and wealth of our nation for both humans and animals. As well, we should bloody well keep these facilities going and not let them run away. It’s a matter of national security. American isolationism is here to stay and maybe worldwide for that matter. Protect our own industry which is essential to our health and safety. This goes beyond any political affiliation, both sides have sold us out with their own bs spin on this. Need to snuff out the kleptocracy.
