The weather system that drenched flooded eastern Australia if you follow it has meandered sort of southerly direction then hit colder air and obviously moved slightly west with the I think called katabatic winds.
So air warmed suddenly for about two days.
Apparently has happened before once every 8 or so years but recording is better now and picked up up quicker this time.
Was actually for3cast by some weather fanatics a few weeks back, I know said this will go all the way south to Antarctica.
Spot on.
Edit should have been first paragraph but many at the point of lunacy here last three days with brief Antarctic heating.

The first Montana Low passing through SE Sask today. Looks to be taking the more tradition pathway by angling ENE, staying south of Regina before moving further to the north.
A line of travel; Glasgow, MT - Plentywood - Carlyle - Moosomin - Dauphin,SK
Too early to say that the pattern is locked in for the summer, but it's nice to see the Low movement back to a more historical trend.
