You have been a vociferous advocate of lockdowns and mandates. What do you think of what's going on in China right now? Will that be an effective measure, will the unintended consequences not cause more problems and even deaths than covid would have and it's absence?
Would you support the same thing happening here, if us stubborn Farmers insisted on going out and seeding our crops in the middle of a pandemic?

When we have covidiots who claim that vaccines are killing more people than covid, is there much point discussing anything with the potential darwin award winners?
Even in the middle of the worst of the pandemic our lives as farmers were relatively unchanged. Life and farming went on.
The worst of it was we couldn't visit our senior relatives. And of course they paid the highest price.
Many people were better off with CERB and other covid measures to offset the job losses.
Once vaccines arrived things improved rapidly.

I just looked at the stats. In canada, cases got worse after vaccines were introduced, hospitalizations went up, ICU cases peaked at about the same levels as before, deaths peaked at the same levels as before, mandates and closures and restrictions were not removed. Covid threads on agriville didn't decline.
What other measures are you using to see things improved?Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Apr 14, 2022, 12:06.

If you go to the same website, you can find the information on a day-by-day trend. And it shows the trends I indicated above.
This is the equivalent of claiming that smart phones save lives because statistically if you lump all of the people ever born in the history of mankind into one statistic, you will find the people who never owned a smart phone are almost all dead now, while most of the people who own a cell phone are still alive. Never mind the fact that they have only existed for a few years.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Apr 14, 2022, 20:17.

Vax fail in the first degree. There needs to be some accountability for this collosal farce of a failure.

The vaccines are less effective against the Omicron and variants because they have become highly transmissible. But they are still effective and with a booster, very effective at preventing hospitalization and severe outcomes.
So anyone who is still saying that vaccines are not or were not effective is full of shite!
Just like the flu vaccines will be updated so will covid vaccines as the virus changes.

Vaccine effectiveness results from B.C.
Booster doses and effectiveness against Delta and Omicron: February 2022
Updated estimates of vaccine effectiveness between September 2021 and February 2022 have been assessed when Delta and Omicron were the most common variants. This analysis compared the effectiveness in people who had received two doses of vaccine to those who had received a booster dose, including during the period when Delta dominated or Omicron dominated.
For Delta: Two doses provided excellent protection up to eight months after the second dose, particularly against severe outcomes:
Two doses prevented more than 90% of hospitalizations and more than 80% of infection.
For Omicron: Two doses provided good protection against severe outcomes
Two doses prevented about 65-75% of hospitalizations (reducing the risk of COVID-19 hospitalization by about two-thirds to three-quarters compared to unvaccinated people)
Two doses were less effective against Omicron infection (less than 10-15% against any infection).
Booster doses: increased protection against both Delta and Omicron
Booster dose increased protection up to more than 95% against Delta infection or hospitalization.
Booster dose increased protection up to more than 90% against hospitalization with Omicron and about 50-60% against Omicron infection.Last edited by chuckChuck; Apr 15, 2022, 07:39.
