Problem is the “nuts” are running politics in most North America now .
How’s “gun free” big cities doing in the US .. Chicago, Baltimore, Portland ???

I’ve got lots of friends I hope on here and don’t wish to alienate anyone on both sides of debate.

Guess truth is or truth is Australia has no “gun culture” except in rural areas and hunters call me a bone head that’s the way it should be.

Had port Arthur massacre conservative govt changes immediate legislation bit longer 6 months. I can shoot hunt buy weapons ammunition just can’t have semi auto or lever action or pump. Tough yeah some sort of medium.

For a city person to buy guns plenty of hoops to jumps through.

Yeah furrow agree in principle only.

Guns don’t kill people , deranged people kill others .

If he was armed with a knife only wouldn’t have been the carnage.

If the could somehow just bring laws in farmers and hunters and sporting shooters only would solve issue but impossible dream.

Two 18 year old are able to purchase AR-15's and kill in one instance 10 people and in the other 21.

Many of my family members hunt including my children and their spouses, haven't seen any of them packing an AR-15 when going deer hunting.

And just how would have more prisons being built prevented these two 18 year olds from going on their massacres, they had no criminal records.


I see the Bull Shit line coming out as usual "Guns don't kill people do" so let's just move on till next week when it happens again.

An AR-15 is a little small for hunting anything bigger than a coyote, after all the AR-15 is a .22 caliber, the AR-15 is a restricted weapon in Canada and can’t be used anymore but a few years ago it was legal for shooting at an approved gun range.

Honestly after the covid fiasco and the experts driving people into madness over a cold, I am surprised there isnt mass shootings every day.

Anyway, there are 20 murders a week in Chicago. Nobody bats an eye.

I am not a gun owner, never even shot one before. Our family didnt hunt, dad kept a 22 for scaring coyotes. Just wasnt something we did.

But Canadas gun laws are all tipped toward hunters and sportsman while the illegal hand guns flow freely in our biggest cities.

Maybe every gun purchase should be accompanied by supervised training and a mental evaluation.

I can't defend ownership of most of my collection as necessary.
But the tactics, lies, and public money spent on confiscation of lawfully owned and used personal property disgusts me.

Gun ownership is a little like the capital punishment. There can be no capital punishment if the possibility of wrongful execution is a deal breaker. If the goal is to be certain that guns never end up in the hands of a dangerous person there can be no gun ownership.

I believe that we are an imperfect being in an imperfect world and the reality of collateral damage must be accepted in all activities. If the benefits of a practice outweighs the costs it should be instituted. That was the rule for only about half of my seven decades. You are free to judge which half!

In case this is getting as clear as mud I am pro gun ownership and pro capital punishment. Gun confiscation makes dictatorship too easy for tyrants. Absence of capital punishment allows rot to accumulate, fester, and multiply.

Just when you thought it was cut and dry.

Gunman entered school unopposed, doors wide open. Walked the halls for hours, nobody questioned him. An 18yr old walking aimlessly around an elementary school doesnt elicit any concern. How did he keep 2 ARs hidden.

Then police waited outside the school for an entire hour and didnt try to enter while the gunman was on the loose. I guess sending the swat team to check vaxx passports is easier than engaging an active shooter.

Parents who tried to get to the school were tasered and detained.

Always more questions.

I will never look at law enforcement the same way after covid. Never. I dont trust any of them.
