Glad to see you are in favour of using hydrogen as an energy carrier/source.

So whats the cost of carbon and capture and storage to make blue hydrogen more green? Show us the numbers. LOL

And there he goes again, claiming hydrogen is an energy source. How do we possibly have a constructive intellectual conversation about energy when the other side insists on displaying such willful ignorance.

Sometimes it’s best to remain silent and let folks dig their own hole. As was alluded Alberta’s hydrogen is a byproduct from upgrading and refining hydrocarbons. Where did I say I was against using hydrogen? I think I as have others did that liquifying hydrogen in Newfoundland and sending it to Germany is not cost effective, profitable nor energy efficient. Good try to pick a fight and put someone down but I am not taking the bait. Go to town with your family and have an ice cream at the concession by the beach. Your blood sugar is getting too low.

Well then at least now Chuck and company have an excuse. But how do they possibly explain all the previous years of posting here?

True, hydrogen is just an energy carrier.

Its just the beginning of investments in green hydrogen as a carrier and storehouse of renewable energy.

Its also just the beginning of large scale carbon capture and storage or utilization in the gas industry.

No doubt green hydrogen is going to be expensive and so is carbon capture and storage to produce hydrogen from gas.

Looks like Australia is investing in green hydrogen as well

Queensland advances green hydrogen and ammonia project to be powered by renewables

Hydrogen has become central to the Australian government’s current proposal to reach net zero emissions.

The government has nominated “clean hydrogen” as a priority low-emissions technology that could eventually help replace fossil fuels in transport, electricity and industrial processes as the world moves to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

H2U is expected to make a final investment decision by mid-2023, with operations expected to begin in 2025 and an expansion toward the end of the decade.

I have a niece that farms in Queensland with her husband. Their most precious commodity is water. Most years are very dry. No different than the western U.S. where will the water come from for green hydrogen? If it is salt water what do they do with the salt by-product? Just a couple of questions Chuck2.

Water not a problem in Newfoundland. Certainly in parts of Australia and the US it is a huge issue.

Water supply never seems to be mentioned as an issue when it comes to oil production or agriculture.
