I have come to the conclusion Agstar that your goal 99% of the time when you post is to trigger people period. Personally I despise Trump. He has in my opinion made being a Conservative more difficult. There is one thing I do agree with him on to some extent and that is fake news. The bias of reporters on both the right and the left definitely reduces the credibility of what is reported!!!

There is definitely bias in media but laziness of journalists is of a larger threat. Laziness to not check out stories properly. Watched news other day and was about a native lady who was a residential school survivor. Talked about her shitty time there. Fair enough. She created some nice art and one was something to do with the trade blankets. Reporter then says these blankets were used to infect natives with smallpox. This has been proven to be false. No doubt there probably was some unintentional transmission that way but the effort at foot was to starve them out and later the residential schools to reeducate the children. Europeans did not have to do anything as far as doing anything intentional to infect natives with disease. Natives had zero immunity to anything brought from across the ocean. Same as the assumption by authorities the trucker convoy had weapons but when questioned rcmp said oh they had wrenches and tire irons which could be weapons. No guns were found.

We do know. That shaped where the Europeans were able to succesfully colonize vs where they avoided.

Jared Diamond's Guns Germs and Steel makes a convincing case for the lack of local diseases and immunity being a good reason why areas such as North America were easily colonized vs. more tropical areas where the intended colonizers tended to die to tropical diseases.

Usually in the morning as part of the news sights I read I look at CNN and Fox. If both cover the same story in a similar fashion I consider it news otherwise I discard a lot of what is said as partisan musings!

Well, obviously you have a centrist bias, where you see everything through the blinders of the exact center, able to see both sides clearly. Don't you know that only people on the extreme left don't have any biases?

Those Vikings were Iceland and Greenland based which was isolated from mainland Europe enough already. The more settled native communities were the most affected whereas the hunter gatherers fared better.
