Not a single answer. That, after saying she was a danger. To what? To whom? If you say something, don’t run away and not back it up. It looks quite a bit like you have no actual answers when you do that.
Kind of like the carbon tax/emissions reduction number. They don’t answer that one either.
Forcing a curriculum from the 1950's.
Saying something stupid every single day.
Not assigning a Minister of Labour. Duh we forgot.
Too radical to even run in an open riding in blue Calgary knowing full well she would lose.
RStar, Use billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded royalty breaks to subsidize energy companies to fulfil their legal duty and clean up old wells.
The Free Alberta Strategy includes a proposal to have the Alberta government appoint all future judges to the Court of King’s Bench and the Court of Appeal. Contrary to section 96 of the Constitution 1867, done Federally. Its like having one party of a contract deciding who will be the judge.
The Supreme Court has explained, the Constitution creates sovereign, co-ordinate orders of government. The court itself has been consistent, that the provinces are “not subordinate†to the federal government, contrary to what some (Smith) have suggested. So you get whipped into a needless frenzy by cheerleading what already exists. A lot like Trump - make up a problem and then appear to solve it.
Deception is always dangerous. But then that is how you get votes for a little while at least. The same people that believe Ivermectin cures Covid despite 100% certainty from science and medicine it does not, will eat this stuff up, right Tom? Her anti-science, anti-medicine approach is exactly how all the disaster movies start out.
I'm sure there is a lot more - but the NDP wouldn't be any better.

Personally, I wish she would just focus on the sovereignty act and forget about all the other nonsense about vaccines etc. Because as we are seeing, the media will tear her apart over these other issues which only appeal to a relatively smaller portion of the population. And those people were going to vote for her no matter what now that she is leader. Perhaps she needed them to get the leadership. But if she never mentions mandates again, those people still won't ever vote for Notley.
And I fully expect the sovereignty act to fail. I expect that is the intention. I expect this is a first step to proving that the confederation is not workable as we move on to the actual solution of separation.
And I think she is the Right leader for that. Provided voters give her enough time to accomplish it.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Nov 2, 2022, 15:53.

The Sovereignty Act is just a smoke screen.

Yea paint em all with the same brush
That’s easier
As their exalted ruler said , and I quote :
the anti-vaxxers, as “often†being women-haters, racists and science-deniers, as well.
Here’s more : Trudeau: Canadians who protested him are 'racist,' 'misogynistic,' 'anti-vaxxer mobs'
Yes, there is a small, fringe element in this country that is angry, that doesn’t believe in science, that is lashing out with racist, misogynistic attacks,
Real intelligent for a leader of a G7 country

I got vaxxed based on the advice of my family doctor of 20 years who looks after every member of my immediate family. She has been there for us through some very serious illness making sure we receive the best specialists available with positive outcomes. So, I should doubt my Doctor because a group of anti eveything Agriviiler's found some B.S. on the internet?
As for painting them all with a brush Smith only got 53% on the sixth round is hardly a vote of confidence amongst the UPC. I'd say she has to hang on to the Social Right Wingnuts of the UPC in order not to get hung out to dry in six months.
I'm sure there are some fiscal UPC supporters unvaxxed but really what percentage is that compared to the other side of the UPC fence?

But she’s there
Why not give her a chance
Why doesn’t the media give her a chance
Nothing could be worse than that useless pig at the trough Kenney

As I have said before, the Conservative parties in Canada are between a rock and a hard place.
The social conservative positions and qualities it takes to win the leadership vote amongst the party membership are exactly the wrong policies that are needed to get the party elected amongst the broader centrist population.
But they refuse to learn. They either need to attract a more broad swath of the population into the party to ovewhelm the minority social conservative nuts, or quit catering to them all together. Until then, they will continue to put forth leaders who are unpalatable to the average middle of the road fiscal conservative, who couldn't care less about the divisive social issues.

Why not unite behind the fiscal conservative who the general population might actually elect. At least the fiscal conservatives won't take the social policies any further to the left. Which is what happens when we put a social conservative as the leader and allow the far left to get elected over and over again.
A far larger percent of the population cares about fiscal issues than care about the highly divisive issues of abortion and gay marriage. And at election time the people that do care about those issues still aren't going to vote for the far left, so there is no need to pander to their votes. It's just simple math.
