US in a bind - Saudi Arabia has Biden by the shorts. (Opec cutting production right before US midterms). Imported oil will push up American inflation at the worst time. And on other hand Freeland hiccupping about fast-tracking oil projects to help our allies, what a crock! Two crazy fools, sitting on mountains of oil and gas and too woke to use it to be self-sufficient. Wacko

This seems to indicate that both know limited supply causes high prices and the solution is to increase supply.
Yet they both use reducing fossil fuel use by higher prices/taxes and restricting expansion as a cornerstone of their policy.
Refinery capacity is the current problem that is surprising them. No interest in making long term investments in more capacity as by the time you got the permitting and groundwork done your mandated out of business.
Government involvement makes everything insolvent.

Head of Toyota, the world's largest auto manufacturer, said at their annual meeting last week that he doesn't believe the EV goals are achievable as the supply of materials for the batteries, motors and electronics won't be there in the timeliness required.
They will continue to supply the platform their customers want including ICE.

The manufacturers are telling us they can't get the materials to meet The impossible deadlines. Utilities are telling us they can't meet the demand as is let alone adding electric vehicles to the mix. We've let China get control of most of the world's rare Earth metals and processing we are now in a cold war with them. And thanks to the utter failure of renewables, the world is in the process of transitioning to coal just to meet existing demand, and is more than ever held hostage to the evil ruthless dictators who control most of the world's exportable oil and gas.
Other than that, the transition to electric vehicles is going along wonderfully.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Oct 16, 2022, 19:35.

So the governments are mandating that gasoline vehicles can't be sold anymore. The miners are telling us they can't meet The impossible regulations and land rates issues.
