we moved to canada from ireland about 16 years ago , food and most stuff was a lot cheeper in canada back then , we are back in ireland now for a visit and we cant believe how low the cost of food etc is here now compared to canada , looks like everything PP has said on inflation has been 100 % correct , and them that say inflation is worldwide dont know what they are talking about , my wife has been shopping and spent around a 100 euro on food , that would be about 135 cad dollars , she said the similar amount of goods would be around 250 dollars back in canada , fuel is higher price here but thats about only thing we seen so far

In europe, the inflation is more targeted in energy so far.
Over here, its less in energy and more in everything else.
Anyway, predications are that higher inflation will be around for 5 more yrs. Going to be a lot of people hurting long before that. A mortgage resetting today in Toronto or Vancouver would need $1500-2000 per month more to service.

Energy inflation is one of the largest factors. Food inflation in much of Europe and Great Britain is higher than Canada!

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon. Thats right back to econ 101. Its caused by money printing - simple as that. Europe printed up $1T during covid. Canada $600B. US $8T and so on.
The inflation is then exported to the rest of the world via currency and other machinations.
Got nothing to do with oil or food supply. Zero. And dont let the marxists tell you different.

So a guy comes on to share valuable information about the reality of inflation from a foreign land. And chuck says you can’t go by that, go by the CBC. LOL.
