As the CEO of Saudi aramco correctly pointed out recently, the world is now transitioning to coal.

If you consider China's expansion using coal with no immediate plans for anything else there is no doubt.

Everyone that imports from China or any of the places they are financing and building new coal plants is exprting their CO2 production to coal economies.
Musk has a plant in China now

Asia now produces 58% of the CO2.
Mostly they are not even pretending to play.

Ya well if we can do a good enough job with vaccines woman’s health we can vastly reduce the population, and then this green plan just might pencil out.

You could change the words to read the whole world is reducing CO2 emissions by 2030 and that would onlybe the yellow on the map.

              COP26 just concluded.
26yrs of the same bunch of pretenders back slapping and glad handing and no targets have ever been even close.
So set tougher targets that they know are impossible.
              Spend trillions for virtue signaling.

Saskatchewan and other provinces are planning to build small nuclear reactors to get to net zero. Small Modular Nuclear is the most expensive, so far unlicensed and unproven option for generating electricity.

If they get built anytime soon which is doubtful, they have already chosen a GE Hitachi design that will be built in the US and requires enriched fuel that will come from outside of Canada.

The good news is Ontario, Alberta New Brunswick and Saskatchewan have all decided we need to reduce fossil fuel use for electricity and get to net zero. Nuclear will allow the use of more renewables which are a much cheaper generation source.

Looks like the climate change deniers have lost.

Waiting to see if any of this BS actually changes anything, other than our lifestyle or net worth.

Germany taking down wind farms so they can mine the coal under them.
                    Figured it out I guess..
Canada usually slow to the party..

As I was pointing out above, the entire green energy transition is a transition to coal. It's happening in Germany other parts of Europe and China and India. the US and Australia are producing record amounts of coal. Prices are way up. Who saw this one coming?

The environmental zealots must be so proud of their accomplishment.

As I was saying, a transition to coal.

When all other viable options are vilified, and regulated out of existence, and the only proposed solution is worse than useless, we end up back where we started, burning coal. Congratulations Chuck.

Apparently not in Alberta! I guess the decision makers weren't listening to you A5. LOL

                              https://www.alberta.ca/climate-coal-electricity.aspx

                              Phasing out emissions from Coal

Alberta will phase outcoal-powered electricity by the end of 2023, seven years ahead of the federal target.

                              https://www.power-eng.com/coal/alberta-was-still-building-coal-eleven-years-ago-by-2023-it-will-be-coal-free/#gref

Alberta currently has just over 1200 MW of coal generating capacity left on its system. The Genesee units 1, 2 and 3 at Warburg will be converted to natural gas before the calendar turns to 2023.

At that point, Canada’s fourth-largest province will be fully transitioned from coal-fired electricity. It represents quite a shift, as coal represented more than half of Alberta’s fuel mix just eight years ago.

So how did this happen? Industry experts and elected leaders attribute it to aggressive policies from both the federal and provincial government, as well as shifting market dynamics, like lower natural gas prices and competitive solar and wind.
