Still going to need petro chemicals, but i would say that other sources of energy will eventually replace fossil fuels almost completely.

Once storage of renewables becomes more cost effective they can play a bigger role.

The sun is a massive source of unlimited energy. And nobody can ignore that potential.

Do they magically turn back into all the raw materials they came from ? From the open pit mines where they were extracted?
Yes they can be recycled all it takes is the will do it.

Can you kindly provide some examples? How are the concrete bases, rebar, and composite blades recycled? And how much energy input would the recycling process require?
Chemistry must have changed since I studied it. I wasn't aware that "will" is capable of overcoming or reversing chemical reactions.
Is this similar to your "believe in" global warming mantra?

So why the big concern about the materials used in renewables which aren't all being recycled?

You never seem to express concern about all the other waste items that other industries generate and send to the landfill.

Just how are you planning to clean up the tar sands spill ponds in Alberta? Let alone pay for all the suspended, orphaned and abandoned wells in Alberta? Like a good fiscal conservative, you want taxpayers to subsidize the cleanup? LOL

But you insist on all materials used in renewables must be recycled? What a convenient double standard you have A5. You are a phony when it suits you, plain and simple.

And many of the materials in wind mills can be recycled. The concrete can be crushed, the metal extracted, the steel in the towers, the copper and probably the composite blades will be designed to be recycled too.

So you lost on that point.

Wind turbines don't last for ever, and they are difficult to recycle. The industry is trying to figure out what to do with them.

we're talking about the here and now
            more chuck shit

Wow he lost? You didn’t just actually type that?

FF will be needed to remove millions of tons of overburden that will make the sands look like child’s play. Who is reclaiming the copper mines and lithium fields. Nobody.

FF will be then needed to make renewables then back up their pathetic power generation and then to recycle them back again.

The self own is just pure perfection.

So Chuck declared himself judge jury and executioner. All based on his evidence. And as usual. His evidence is that someday in the future someone will develop recyclable turbine blades. Just like his response to climate change, always in the future based on models. Or renewable energy, is evidence is always some mythical battery technology yet to be developed.

Especially like his comment about recycling the concrete into aggregate. So a large fossil fuel powered excavator with a jackhammer will spend countless days breaking a house size chunk of concrete into boulder size. Then fossil fuel powered trucks will haul that to a fossil fuel powered crusher which will turn concrete into gravel. Keeping in mind that cement production is one of the most prolific emitters of CO2. Essentially converting one of the world's highest CO2 emitting products into the world's most expensive gravel, using a process with the highest possible CO2 footprint.
And then try to convince me that this is a climate emergency.

The radiance of the sun... will in the end always overshadow any CO2 content in the earths atmosphere. The temperature of the earth, human activity... volcanoes.... naturally occurring fires... the endless list of complex environmental factors naturally occurring... are well known to scientifically be responsible for global temperatures.

Chuck knows this is a zero sum result... the transfer of energy into any substance or different form... WILL change climate.

A pointless endless argument. Human Wars now under way... are impacting climate exponentially more than any energy conservation projects.

                    Blessings! Happy New Year!

                      War creates destruction

Humanity has free will to be proud and make war.

Self sacrifice is required for Peace.

Hence, voluntary humanity must follow the following requirements for Peace:

Peace and Love are required for a stable civilization.

                      All the Best in 2023!!!

I see A5 had no answer for why the renewable electricity industry potential waste management recycling problem is such a big concern, but in every other industry there is no problem?

What a dipshit non answer again. LOL

The flaterathers just can't face the fact that renewables will play an important role in transitioning to a lower carbon emission future so they make up all kinds of lame excuses about how bad the waste issue is going to be, but fail again and again to admit every other industry including the oil and gas industry has a massive waste and cleanup problem. In A5's case right in his own backyard.

What are you talking about. Chuck knows all the Marxist talking points about the oil industry.
                              1) orphaned and abandoned wells
                              2) subsidies
                              3) profits by greedy corporations.
                              4) solar and wind are cheaper than fossil fuels by installed capacity.
What else is there to know?
