I think you described it perfectly.
Almost as if it was designed intentionally to be a non falsifiable hypothesis. Which in itself makes the entire movement unscientific.

When you hear the phrase “the science is settled” my eyes glaze over like when a religious wingnut starts quoting revelations. Ssdp. I don’t doubt humans activities have an impact but at what scale and actions taken to mitigate justify the pain and suffering. The radicals propose measures without costing out the consequences whether they outweigh doing nothing. In pre Columbus America the aztecs especially would sacrifice people sometimes on an industrial scale to appease the gods when faced with sustained periods of drought and pestilence.
