      there is a lot of that around here too
      or one rent transaction of $115 makes the news when two farmers were trying to prove who has the biggest one but the 95 % of 65-80$ doesn't make the news

            If Zeihan is right and the FFR goes to 6% and stays up in that range for a decade, that means the manipulation lid will be off commodities too.

            Land should perform very well in that scenario. And if fiat has a stumble, and BRICs do get a commodity based currency off the ground, well watch out.

                  Classic blow off top before correction. Planning new crop hauling off field so that my oats can celebrate a birthday in the bin as wont be loading a truck for $4. Every body switching to barley so that price will plunge. Hopefully the Argy freeze is real and that should help move off field canola. Hard to get data but looks like canola exports are slow this winter. Pipeline refilling gave the impression that exports are humming. This is just like 1982. Drought like spring 83 as zero soil moisture in Edmonton region. That ever happen before? It is different this time.

                        Does anyone in this thread know that the CPP (via their management company Canterra Capital)/under #'d corporation 101138678 SASKATCHEWAN LTD. sold the more than 100,000 acres of land last year (which they'd bought from Assiniboia Farmland Corp 10 years ago)? As far as i can tell none of it was publicly tendered and at least 20,000 acres were sold directly to farmland investment fund Avenue Living.
