I bet this story goes deeper. I bet Zelensky found that old boy and suggested him to Trudeau as a big virtue signal photo op.

There were no good guys to side with. Just bad and worse. I would not wish anyone to be in their shoes and have to make those decisions. Regardless which side you were on, it would be wrong, and probably cost your life, and that of your family at some point as the tides of war shifted.
Unthinkable. I won't judge anyone who did what they had to to try to survive.

How is it mentally lazy to see the truth right in front of your own eyes and see maybe Putin was right, there is a resurgent nazi element in Ukraine that the west has aligned with to try and destabilize russia again.

I mean what other complex situation comes to mind when seeing all the evidence.

Deep state has aligned with all sort of evil entities so long as it serves their goal. Hell ISIS was our ally at one time, so was Ghaddafi, Bin Laden, Norega etc.
