That is just Chuck being racist again.

First off. Lets just get 1 thing straight. The ndp absolutely ran a large deficit when in power ( as they were going to invest heavily in education and infrastructure..which as we now know thru various studies over time...that every 1 dollar invest brings back 3 into the economy....vs tax breaks for corporations which brings back 0.25 bucks per 1 dollar in tax break. As well.. the price of oil avsolutely tanked when they were in power...and they had only 1 yr in power where they had spent more than the ucp did while in power). Now that this is all cleared up.

Prediction. Ucp win larger than estimated. The alberta ndp have aligned themselves to closely to jagmeet singh ( arguably the most gutless canadian in political history who COULD actually hold trudeaus feet to the fire).
Also. The carbon tax. Lets just go thru this real quick. NOTLEY placed an alberta carbon tax to get ahead of a federally mandated one. It was actually a smart move to keep carbon tax dollars in alberta AND the value per mT lower than fed mandate.
      Regardless.

Ucp win. Danielle smith is absolute garbage. Shes a shyster as shysters go. But.. the leftist politics have pushed too hard and for too long. The alberta election will be a microcosm of what will most likely happen in Canadian politics. We move the pendulum back to the right.

And lets be honest here.. if we want to become an economic powerhouse again of the g7 nations... we need more resource extraction. And for F sake can wr please crank.up the royalty rate for alberta natural resource extraction? An extra 0.25% wouldnt scare a single company off... and it would bring in an estimated 8 billion more per year.
( depending on price per barrel).

Its the most simple thing we can do for the alberta economy..and not a single person in Canada other than those touting the " oil and gas would pull out" fear tag line... would say MOOT.
Stop giving away all our shit for peanuts on the dollar. Oil and gas doesnt need more subsidies just as the flames ownership doesnt ( new rink) and just as solar and wind projects dont.
If its profitable.. then let them build it.

      Also.
The canadian pension plan has run at a fantastic rate of return. There is little to 0 proof that an alberta pension fund would do any better or be at arms length of our govt. AIMCO is junk. If alberta werr smart they would pull their money out of the Canadian pension fund and throw it into the Saskatchewan Pension fund ( which has absolutely killed it since the beginning of time and is the only fund avail to invest in as a private citizen).

      Anyways.
Itll be another long 4 years no.matter who wins. And not because of their policies or leadership ( frankly its shocking that smith and notley are our best options here... just as bad as 2 senile 80 yrs old running for pres ident in the us and A). But because of the division that has been created over the last 4... 6...8..12 yrs.
Either way... its high time alberta won something. I fear that wont change until we see a new federal leader .

      Tell.me.im wrong?

newsflash; the CPP is heavily invested in china and canadian unicorn companies along with ESG directives. And it liabilities outstrip its assets by a large margin.

I think a province that paid off $80B in debt in 4 yrs could do a much better job and stop subsidizing the CPP at the same time.

Alberta has a fine line to walk. To stop the federal intrusion on their province, they will have to adopt more socialist tendencies. A PST that in return pays for local services or an APP or Sovereign Wealth Fund will halt the equalization drain. The royalty rate might do that too.

What ever the solution is, it cant be business as usual in this country. Something has to give. Smith may not be the brainiac people think, but she can be the instrument we need. She is the only one who even proposed some measures to sheild ourselves from these insane polices.

I mean would you vote for some one who wanted the PEI potato industry closed up. yet we have 25% of the canadian population trying to do that to O&G.

Back on topic here. I predict a ucp majority. Definitely some battlegrounds in Calgary too close to call. Going to keep political opinions out of it today and only take polling data for what it’s worth. 338 Canada the poll aggregator which is right most times has a 75% likelihood of a ucp majority but it isn’t over till the fat lady sings. The undecided vote will come to play if they come out.

My prediction is UCP will probably win.

But the the libertarian chronic complainers and the Canada is shithole club still wont be happy! LOL

Since Polarizing Pierre endorsed Smith, and when Danny goes off the rails which she will keep doing, it will hurt Poilievre and the CPC's electoral fortunes in Ontario who will look at Smith and Alberta and say we don't want the likes of that shit show in Ottawa.

And the NDP and Notley are more centrist compared to other NDP parties. The only reason they look left is many of you are or have gone even farther right.

I've been stuck in a tractor for this entire election campaign. What I've noticed is almost all of the ads are for the NDP, and they are all attacking Smith personally, specifically about the UCP strategies to game leverage against and autonomy from Ottawa. The same applies for the sound bites on the news.
I have hardly heard any ads for the ucb, or news bites. It seems that they are making no attempt to either refute or deny the NDP accusations.
Perhaps they are concentrating their advertising where it is more effective, but then why is the NDP wasting their money advertising here?
So it looks to me like the UCP is allowing the NDP to make this the election issue. And by not denying it, when they do when, they can claim they have the mandate to carry on in the separatist direction. Without actually saying so during the election campaign.
Or does the picture look much different in other areas?
I know if I were a union member, and I watched them squander my union dues on a futile election campaign for the NDP and the most conservative writing in the province, I would be asking some tough questions of the Union leadership.
It looks to me like the NDP is out spending the UCP by 10 to 1 at least locally. Almost certainly in futility locally.

Notley had a good chance of winning if she had represented any other party.
Her policies while in power show her loyalties.
I believe it's in the party constitution you follow the federal party. And have labor on your board.

Pierre forever killed Liberals here. His son and Jagmeet the NDP for now. Unless you're a gov't employee of course. Hence the sizable support.

Wish we had a two party system federally.

If she ever crossed the floor she would be a force to be reckoned with.

Crossing to the Libs four years ago would've been quite interesting.

She’d need to go federal for that. Alberta liberals are way down with the Green Party 😂

Too bad Mad Max did not go to Alberta. He is trying to get elected in Manitoba. He would fit right in with Smith.

The biggest thing is the 'private equity' scam. Since it is not publically traded, it is worth what we say it is. Then we have bonuses based on that figure. That is the scam the cpp is working right now. So long as contributions go up it will work. I pay both employer and employee share on my off farm gig so know about that. An Alberta pension would invest in the real energy sector and that may have a chance in the future. All other pensions and benefit programs will soon be broke unless the recipients are vaccinated against life.
