      Like?

And you’re assuming they're dumb enough that they think they’d have the same levels of services and infrastructure without paying taxes?

Considering the quality of services and infrastructure supplied in many areas, it doesn’t seem like they need half the taxes anyway.

A loophole should be fair for everyone, if only the BTO can use a loophole it should be shut down.

I guess Curly and company like hike higher taxes and don't have the benefit of funding a lot of core services with one time non renewable resource revenues.

Life is hard in Alberta when you win the geology lottery and your neighbors have less!

Some Albertans would only be happy if they paid no taxes and got all their provincial services, roads and handouts for free!
And what about BC Chuck2? Corporate tax rate is higher in BC than Alberta, why isn’t gas cheaper in BC?

Interesting article on driving.ca. “Comparison of 3-year ownership costs of EV, gas small SUVs.” Testing done in Ontario, so I am not sure if Alberta has the same $5000 rebate on EV’s. Hybrids look viable, EV’s cost more per year to run in most not all cases even with $8000 government rebate on purchase price. Electricity cost of 15.5 cents a kwh is less than Alberta, more than Saskatchewan.

Toyota says solid-state battery breakthrough can halve cost and size
Japanese carmaker plans to commercialise technology in electric vehicles by 2027

"Toyota claimed it had made a “technological breakthrough” to resolve durability issues and “a solution for materials” that would allow an EV powered by a solid-state battery to have a range of 1,200km and charging time of 10 minutes or less."

And who was telling us battery technology would never improve?

And who has spent the past 5+ years touting solid state batteries as a solution which is ready for commercialization next year? Still 4 years away, all these years later.

But that is beside the point. You are deflecting again. Answering a question which no one asked, while still avoiding the simple question which Hamloc keeps asking.

I never said next year. It was Panosonic who said they were working on solid state batteries and partnered with Toyota in 2019 But who cares about the timelines except you, the nit picker from no where who's only argument is, it is too slow! LOL

Half the cost and twice the range with solid state batteries and EVs will kill any arguments that EVs are not viable or too expensive. The battery is currently the most expensive part of an EV.

You kept telling us that battery technology wont get better or cheaper. Wrong again according to Toyota.

Toyota is the largest automaker on the planet and is about to deliver an impressive cheaper better battery in its models in 4 years.

And you don't like it because it ruins your argument that we need to keep burning fossil fuels in very inefficient ICEs! LOL

And what’s the lifespan of them?

Moot point that they’re half the cost if they only last half as long.

I still haven’t seen anything about making batteries more environmentally friendly which is kind of negating the entire point of an EV isn’t it.
