    Deer and Gardens

Who has experience in keeping deer outta gardens? We covered the beets with net, now the deer have moved over to the carrots, potatoes and raspberries, hmmm, hope someone has found a remedy.

Take the hottest pepper sauce you can find mix it 1 part sauce 4 parts water or 3 but taste it make sure it has a bit of spice
Spraynit on the plants thatll.keep them off for quite awhile
    Works better than pesticide powders

Can chop up cilantro and let it soak in the water like a tea. Have never had deer eat my grown cilantro.

Progressed from a single hot wire at about 32 inches works until more pressure, to hot wire mesh to plastic 8 foot mesh. Final solution was to use 8 by 20 foot cement "rebar" mesh panels. Permanent solution, least visual impact.

Progressed from a single hot wire at about 32 inches, worked until pressure got too high. Used electric mesh fence then 8 foot plastic fence. Best solution was to use 8 foot by 20 foot mesh panels used for cement, little visual impact, permanent and easy to open up to get in equipment.

Our neighbours across the road have a full-grown German Shephard and the deer still ate the potato tops. I had purchased a few big plastic nets at Crazy Bins back in the winter, never thinking I would need them but they stretch quite far and seem to be doing the trick, so far the deer haven’t learned how to take the nets off. 😂

Oh that's good. I have a wrap around plastic netted fence that has attached tread-in posts. it can be electrified. It's only about 4' high and I mostly have it to keep the dog out of the garden (digger). My garden is fairly close to the house and nothing gets by the dog. So far so good.

Every time you weed, pee on a different spot of the perimeter of the garden. Deer won’t come near it when you’ve “marked your territory”. Or bears. Or elk.

Can be a bit embarrassing if you don’t keep an eye on your driveway.😎
