    Are You Ready

Farmers are so worried about the next few days or weeks, they fail to look further down the road.

They are already laying the ground work for what I said will happen next election. This is what Moe and Smith are gearing up to fight. How much of a fight they will muster is the question. I suspect Mr Singh might even be Finance Minister and a bunch of his toadies in other cabinet positions.

My wife and I already live on dividends the lowest taxed income possible. The rest we will hide in the corporation and the bins I guess.

We book our CGE the day after this election if this goes through.

Capital Gain tax , us farmers are sitting ducks , they will be seeing the big gain due to the inflation they caused and be wanting to get a big chunk of it , have to get the money somehow to give to the freeloaders that will vote for them

I’m not worried about capital gains tax, I’ll give this place away, I don’t need to retire a multimillionaire. In might need to stay in an estate forever.

            1). Only Hutterites live forever.
2). Farming is a different picture in everyone's mind. Many different personal definitions.
3). It will look very different in the next 1-2 generations.
Obviously CG is a headlight in a tunnel coming for us. But only the 1% who pay it know what it is.
And yes, words like that which Singh uses are gaining traction all the time. The way it is.
I have done all I can. However, I still need to operate to live. My children won't be burdened with it.
The owners of land in time. Their standard of living won't be affected either way.
"Family Farm" will be a picture in a mind only by then.
Maybe it's a good thing that so many small farms are in Quebec?

He set up his own tax department to limit federal overreach. Get off your straw man arguments.

Very True. Us old farm folks can live comfortably with a couple of meals a day and as long as we can afford heat and lights in our homes. Once over the "hill" even "vacations" are not a priority.... Spending time with family and helping our community is a wonderful privilege... teaching and sharing blessings... is plenty enough reward for myself and my better half!

Giving it all away... no need to pay any capital gains tax! Very Simple estate... when I am worth nothing...financially... nothing left for: bleeding heart liberals... communists... or any of the greedy arrogant left wing politicians...

God Bless Alberta! God bless Canada! Blessings and Prayers... it is really getting dry... WoW... wont be much to argue over... if it doesn't rain pronto!

One week after the big white combine July 1…

                      The soybeans got sheered off!

No rain since the July 1 storm… The smell of drying out dead plants is pungent…

                      Blessings and Prayers

Ya like Moe told the feds wrong time to add a tax and a few months later the budget added more taxes to farmers than the carbon tax ever would be.He did reverse pst on crop insurance but he sure tried.Moe sees all the corporate loop holes and he wants all that money and knows he will not lose one vote doing it.

As far as I know Quebec at present is the only province with its own tax department. Quebec in its goal of being a sovereign nation set up its own pension, it’s own police force, it’s own tax department. While I am not a fan of Quebec or of Prime Ministers from there, they are certainly forward thinking.
In Alberta I submit my corporate tax to the Alberta treasury which is interesting because my personal tax all goes to the federal government, which is then doled out back to the provinces at the whim of the Feds. This sounds like I am contradicting myself because I stated Alberta doesn’t have it’s own revenue service. Like everything with government, it just doesn’t make sense🤷🏻

Under the Canadian Constitution, Taxation is a Provincial Jurisdiction. Provincial Government that have the Federal Government collecting taxes, voluntarily turned those taxation privileges over to the Federal Government. This is why Constitutionally Federal Income Tax of individuals was a voluntary tax…. And Constitutionally still is… Federal Judges have ruled personal income tax is “required “ for the Federal Government to maintain “Peace, Order and Good Government “ Constitutionally Legally the arguments for its mandatory continuation. A Judge (of competent jurisdiction) could theoretically over rule this decision… as the Supreme Court itself has not itself been asked to rule on this issue… which does bring the distribution of personal income taxes involved in the Equalization Payments Federally. Taxation is a very seductive power for provincial government… they seldom can resist the temptation to tax, which is actually a voluntary political decision.

Police are Provincial Jurisdiction as well… the Federal Government being responsible for internationally defending Canadians.

                            Blessings and Prayers

BTW… since 80% of taxes are paid for by 20% of the people… the likely hood of people voting to end personal income tax is very unlikely… in a democratic political system.

                              Cheers
