So the NFU isn't a democratic organization? The members and executives don't have any input into their policy decisions? Where do their policies originate then? And why would you continue to be a member if they ignore your opinions?

Subsidizing and mandating renewable energy, then giving them a preferential deal to sell non dispatchable power at the same rate as reliable dispatchable electricity is the farthest thing from the free market. Those policies are literally getting in the way of private business, it is called crony capitalism. A parasite on the free market.

I am all for the free market, it doesn't exist in the generation industry.

So you are privy to the contract terms and conditions between all electricity generators and consumers in Alberta?

My my thats quite the position you have! LOL

That is all public information if you would like to look it up.
If you can find an exception, please let me know. Is there any solar or wind generator who has the penalties for not delivering dispatchable power? And is there any fossil fuel generator who doesn't have penalties for not delivering dispatchable power when they said they would?
That is beside the point, you are deflecting again. Who makes the decisions about the NFU policy, if not the members such as yourself?

He is a hipocryte and a troll and wrong about a lot about basic facts. But a bitch? C'mon man he's from rural Alberta, oppressed and angry as hell! Give him some slack!

More evidence of renewables living up to their claims of being the cheapest electricity:

Electricity prices ‘must rise by 70pc to pay for more wind farms’

Just need tor raise the cost of all other generation sources by 70 percent so that cheaper offshore wind can compete. Makes perfect sense.

You're a little bitch when it comes to anything Alberta.
And yes, I dance a jig on the CWB's grave every day, and thank God I'm an Albertan as I look upon my proudly waving screw Trudeau flags. Yes, I'm a dying breed who believes in the beauty of a freely functioning market economy, and that we all make our own luck.
I'm far from a hypocrite. But a little bitch will twerk it's ass towards the change in the breeze.

                    Well said
But upon reading his little temper tantrum, pp I'm now deeply offended that he thinks I'm mad as hell.
Can anyone point me to The post I made that would give him that impression?

Are you suggesting that Chuck might be guilty of projection?
As he is the one cursing at me, while telling me I am the one who is angry?

Just need tor raise the cost of all other generation sources by 70 percent so that cheaper offshore wind can compete. Makes perfect sense.
Bumping this up since Chuck seems to have overlooked it.
I'm sure it couldn't possibly be that he is just avoiding it because it's inconvenient.
Chuck, how do you explain the cheapest source of electricity begging governments to raise electricity prices almost double so that their cheapest electricity can be cost competitive? This after power prices have already gone up substantially due to increasing amounts of "cheapest" generation?

Biden was targeting 30GW of new offshore wind development by 2030 with subsidies from the "Inflation Reduction" act.
It now looks like they will miss that target by about 30GW.

Offshore wind is a boondoggle even with heavy subsidies.

                                From Doomberg;

"Offshore wind blades now exceed 100 meters in length, and their tip speeds can surpass an incredible 200 miles per hour. The blades convert kinetic energy into rotational energy, which is then usually fed into a gearbox, which increases the rotational rotor speed. A generator is then used to produce electricity. Electrical, mechanical, and blade failures are common and expensive, as are the myriad ongoing servicing activities needed to maintain smooth operation. Confronting these fundamental limits of physics is challenging.”

Think about planting 100's of these in the ocean and expecting them to supply cheaper power.
