Guess they found a new name for the CWB. Last month 11m canadians received their first food stamps.

Now 4.2m canadians will get a wage subsidy top up this year. 2nd year in a row.

While I have no doubt that this is only a thinly veiled attempt at vote buying and wealth transfer, and the first step on the way to universal basic income, I also think it's not the worst idea this government has ever come up with. Which isn't saying much when you consider their deplorable track record.
This program would actually reward people for going to work, however meager the income from that work may be. Whereas most welfare programs are the opposite and they punish participants for working, the harder they work the more they are punished. And reward them for doing nothing.
