i have a friend who runs a tire and repair shop , more and more people are having a hard time paying for the repairs to keep their vehicle running , that they need drive to work , the last thing they have is money to go out and buy a more efficient vehicle , bankruptcys are at a 10 year high , food bank use is at an all time high , homelessness is at an all time high , carbon tax and inflation caused by this clueless government has destroyed canada , you dont have a clue whats going on in the real world CC

      There is your answer.

When gas prices rose super high in the past, consumption declined and people chose more efficient vehicles.
So that’s your answer, raise gas prices so high people can’t afford to drive ?
For what ? It will make zero difference to the worlds climate , further put people in debt and force people to buy already outdated and overpriced EV’s that most won’t be able to afford because of the huge inflation caused by the carbon tax and Covid to start with .
Great plan to kill the middle class , which is exactly what is happening

Hey we baited chuck in now lets give him an econ 101 lessons.

Only non essentials are subject to price sensitivity chuck. People will not cut back on basics of life; shelter, food, energy. Still need a car to get to a job to pay pay for this and paying $30k more for a shitty EV to get around isnt going to cut it.

Sin taxes have been going up forever and nobody changed anything. Canada has the highest telecm prices in the world and nobody is going back to a land line.

Maybe the climate cult should try a link between cancer and CO2, that might make a difference.

Anyway, your NASA buddies say canada is already negative carbon, so science settled right.

          What’s Canada’s emissions output per Sq/km ???
Canada is a huge country that has no choice to use petroleum products for the foreseeable future. Yes a few windmills and solar panels help slightly at random times , but it’s all mostly virtues signalling by this green facade.
We are one of the coldest climates of any of the G20 by far for 5 months of the year . Without more nuclear or hydro , which will never happen now , oil and gas are here to stay with zero other options for decades yet .
We could cut all petroleum, freeze to death in the winter , and zero will change the climate . You know this , you’re simply being , well … you

It is convenient that you use per capita.

Most of what we export is energy intensive commodities, including energy itself.
We have some of the most extremes of climate.
We have some of the lowest population density in the world.

Do you think there might be a better metric to compare our emissions to other countries?

Exactly , play with numbers/definitions to make us EVIL, where as we are totally innocent and needy of energy due to our location on Earth.

You bring up a valid point.
But I was referring to the Rube Goldberg contraption which Chuck envisions will supply our future energy needs. A Ponzi scheme which will require everyone borrowing their base load energy from everyone else because everyone will have sabotaged their reliable fossil fuel powered grids in favor of unreliables.
It will be the equivalent of the magician trying to keep countless plates spinning on top of sticks.

The flat earthers don't understand the carbon cycle nor do they think there is a problem with climate change.

In fact some think we should be adding more CO2 to the atmosphere because we are going to run low? LOL

When is chuck going to post his evidence to refute NASA that canada is carbon negative.

Or does he advocate Canada paying taxes to offset chinas emissions.

I'm sure he will explain that as soon as he finishes explaining how Alberta and Saskatchewan are going to follow his advice and use Manitoba hydro as back up our wind and solar, at the same time that Manitoba hydro follows his advice and quits building hydropower in favor of wind and solar.
I'm sure he's not avoiding either topic, just has been very busy doing research.

You’re a self proclaimed scholar, what’s the low level for CO2 for plant life ?
Hint , Was close in the late 1800’s
