I can not find that definition in any dictionary. All define optimum as
the amount or degree of something that is most favorable to some end

It certainly is inconvenient that the scientists who named the warm periods where life flourished, did so long before the politicization of science. Back when it was still accepted science that warmth and CO2 resulted in the optimum conditions for life on earth.
Since you can't erase history, now you have to redefine the words.

The fossil record isn't quite as easy to redefine.

Since CO2 is the cause of sea level rise, why is the rate of sea level rise linear?
By my math, we will be 1/3 of the way through the next glacial cycle before we get the promised 25 m of sea level rise.
