Doomberg explained the reason coal consumption set records last year and so many new coal plants are being built and planed.
When Germany realized the huge move to unreliable renewables wasn't going to keep the heat on they bought a large part of the LNG in the world at prices much higher than developing countries could afford causing countries like Pakistan to go dark.
Energy security now trumps everything. The reason Japan and Germany came looking for LNG.
Now Pakistan and all developing countries like Pakistan are committing to coal as that is what they have at home. Secure Energy supply.

There is no net zero posible with 60% of the world using whatever they have to make sure their relativly poor population can turn on a light switch and reliably have power.
