    Residential School Excavation

A Manitoba Residential School Grounds was excavated and 14 anomalies produced no evidence of childrens’
graves. That is not to say some children weren’t buried near schools after all schools were often near churches that were also near cemeteries. In times where schools were remote, communication poor or non-existent, reserves scattered hundreds of miles from urban centres, one could logically assume that some children may have been buried near schools if the families were too far away to respond.

There have been 3 or 4 similar excavations recently all came up with zilch.

The ones who really pushed it hard and had Trudeau out to virtue signal are now scared to even dig at all now.

A couple years ago I shared a very well written article on Facebook from CBC, I’d share it here but I can’t find it because all the Facebook news is blocked, I’ll keep looking for it, anyway it was said if you were a church member and died nearby most would be buried near residential school because the church was near by, it didn’t matter what colour anybody was, it’s all just digging old cemeteries and virtue signalling.

And all the abuse and neglect in residential schools was made up too?

And what did Prime Minister Harper apologise for?

That might be the story referred to above. Read it right to the end. I remember reading it and thinking at the time that there is a lot of truth in the story, but it never circulated well or was never made into a video for television, so the truth was never told at the time. The truth that the cemetery was known to be there. The truth that graves were becoming exposed due to ground settling and lack of maintenance. The truth that wooden crosses (likely falling over, rotten) were removed. The truth that headstones that were sinking and falling in were removed. All to provide space to bring in dirt and level it off. The truth that area farmers, lake people and local Métis were also buried there. The truth that many children that died in childbirth or as infants were buried there. The truth that there are church records, community records and oral history to prove most of the graves are known to be there. The truth that many died of sickness were buried there. None of that fit the life of the story of the unmarked 751 graves of residential school children (who were assumed murdered), which made the headlines that everyone remembers, but was actually a story of many non truths.

There you go again Charles Charles. The two wrongs make a right. The means justify the end. How warped.

Lots of nasty things done in history. Not sure it wouldn't take an infinity of apologies and payments to make every living relative whole. So what's the end game, because infinity is a long time?

One thing I do know about our federal government is that if an Airbus A380-800 ever crashed into our local cemetery, the government would still be digging up bodies after the passenger list was accounted for.

Cemeteries are being cleaned up similar to the one at Marieval all the time. Local church was looking after a cemetery in the boondocks in the corner of a field I was farming at the time. It was overgrown with trees as the church had been removed in the 1950’s, and no one had been buried there since then. There were some grave stones with names on them, hardly legible as time and weather had eroded the stone, or rusted the metal. There were also known graves that were in the church records, but had wooden markers, and had long disappeared. They asked if they could push the trees back and clear it open so the grass could be cut more easily. There were so many trees among the graves that maintenance was impossible. They struggled a bit with how to mark the known graves, but the unknown exact locations, as no one living today knew the exact locations. In the end all grave stones were removed, big equipment was brought in to push back the trees, and a larger monument with everyone’s names buried there on it, was installed. Not every cemetery gets a new monument and a new life as it costs a lot of money and volunteer time to do this. If this one hadn’t been rejuvenated, surely in one more generation, it would have been forgotten and levelled by a BTO to keep straight on the GPS line.

What’s that got to do with no graves found?

Are you saying if there’s no bodies then nothing happened?

That’s a misguided conclusion to jump too. Especially since there’s still people living who have the experiences to share.

                  What a silly comment, Chuck.

In Glenn’s twisted logic he, and his previous generations of NDP’s should be paying reparations to those whom were sterilized because they were deemed to be unfit specimens to further the human race. Douglas was a proponent for eugenics. No one denies the horrors of residential schools but can’t use the whataboutism Glenn.

Some of the same people who are convinced that the unmarked graves don't contain residential school victims are also some of the the same people who think residential schools were good for first nations children and nothing bad happened.

Its part of residential school denialism and the view that we are not responsible for what happened and what continues to happen to first nations.

Imagine being so twisted and demented that someone was hoping to find children's graves, because he could use them to further their deranged agenda, then disappointed that there were none.
Brought to you by the same sick group who were cheering for people to die from covid.

Some residential school deniers like disgraced former senator Lynn Beyak were so twisted and demented that they even thought residential schools were good for first nations children. Imagine that.

She resigned in disgrace before they all voted to kick her out of the senate after she was kicked out of the Conservative caucus.
