The judge is furious that the prosecution is bringing in reams of new tapes, Facebook posts, etc. Our rule of law requires the prosecution to submit all information pertinent to the charges prior to the court date so the defendant can prepare a defence and have an opportunity to answer to the charges. Much of the new information doesn’t even relate to the two people charged. No wonder people don’t trust the courts. They know the law of the land and know the proper processes. The judge should just throw out the charges.

Recently read a Steinbeck essay entitled Primer on the 1930s. A succinct way of reminding us of today that nothing is new. Replace today's influencers, upheaval, angst and polarization with those of the time and it all sounds familiar. Although it does make our time seem paltry in comparison.
