Think it wasn’t restricted to just Nigeria. Seemed Africa in general wasn’t as badly affected by Covid. India though talking with people from there was a shitshow. Guess a decade later we’ll have a better idea of what contributing factors or lack thereof influenced amount and severity of cases. Russia it is argued had similar numbers of deaths as the USA but with half the population. So many factors to consider with regards to genetics, age, general health, cleanliness, diet, population density etc. Even today they are sifting through the effects of the plagues and Spanish influenza to make determinations.

African Americans were much more likely to have covid listed as cause of death.

They are also among the least likely to have good health insurance.

Early in the pandemic Donald Trump arraigned for all health care costs and funeral cost to be covered by the federal government to ensure everyone had the healthcare they needed at no cost to the patients or the providers.

It has become traditional in the USA to declare national emergencies to transfer all costs to the federal government.
