In the end Angry Moe passes a law to solve an issue between a child 15 and under and the child's parents.Issue may be legally solved but think that child and parents have a long road ahead of them in future conflicts.Maybe expert counseling is what is needed more for the family.Not even sure how often in Sask a law that Moe wants would actually be needed.I know of no cases personally. Maybe he should go to an emergency at a hospital and see Sasks real problem that a much higher amount of people experience .

Actually Chuck, we have a girl in our family who is now Joey. No big deal, we love her just the same and we are, “Watchful waiting” wondering if she will one day decide Joey is forever - or not. We sure aren’t bent outta joint and don’t need to make a big issue of it, sure wish Joey the very best and a happy life despite the uncertainty that must weigh on the young mind. So- yes we do have experience with this issue, do you?

Schools are supposed to be a welcoming accepting inclusive environments for everyone including LGBQT kids.

Teaching kids about LGBQT people and identity is not the same as promoting it.

Its like teaching kids about sex and healthy relationships so that they have more tools to make good decisions with. That is not promoting kids to have more sex.

There have always been gay and non binary kids and people in our communities. They were just never open about it because of the severe stigma. Times have changed. Attitudes amongst some people have not

Most kids are for better or worse able to access all the information they want on sex on the internet and on their phones. And the media, peers and friends influence kids more than parents on social issues. Do you think like your parents did about everything? Of course not!

You are not going to turn back the clock on cultural change, inclusion and diversity in an open society unless you are heavy handed like Ron DeSantis in Florida or the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Beyond this issue of sexual or gender orientation the level of confidentiality between student and school is certainly necessary with other issues. Recently there was an issue which involved the suicide of a teen who was forced to quit school because of their draconian anabaptist religious beliefs. Kid was crushed and depressed enough that he had to quit school and work to support his useless father that suicide was the only way out. Who would that kid’s advocate be if there isn’t some level of privacy between him and a guidance counsellor or teacher for a way out of an untenable situation? It isn’t all black and white. There’s shitty parents out there too. Same goes with allowing certain religions to only educate their kids to the minimum requirement grade 9 to purposely keep them stuck in the religion. It isn’t 1699 anymore Joseph or Jacob.
