    Bullshit Jazz.

Recent inflation has had multiple causes including commodity prices, and supply disruptions along with the illegal invasion of Ukraine to name a few.

And Trevor Tombe at the U of C calculated the relatively small impact of the carbon tax on inflation.

"For that, we'll go to Trevor Tombe, the University of Calgary economist who's well-versed enough in this matter that he can harness Statistics Canada data to figure out these indirect costs.

According to his calculations, these knock-ons do add to the impact of inflation, but they certainly don't double or triple the blow. In Ontario, the direct and indirect effects inflate prices by 0.207 per cent a year. In Alberta, it's 0.1875 per cent.

In other words, we can rightly blame Trudeau's carbon tax for about one-fifteenth of Ontario's current inflation, or one-sixteenth of Alberta's. "Relatively small," is how Macklem put it.

What do marxists know about economics. zero.

None of those are a cause for inflation because we have had many wars, many oil price spikes and no change in inflation.

Only when the govts decided to paper over a fake pandemic and then print their way back to normal along with the govt debt and treasury did we see inflation come back with a vengeance.

The US federal reserve printed $2T in the last month.

You should go back to grade 4 and start over.

That's part of it but not all of the cause. Economists like Tombe know a hell of lot more more than you do.

And farmers benefited from low interest rates and cheap credit for many years and also benefited from the covid benefits in many cases.

Thought you said the carbon tax on fuel was the #1 cause to inflation?
Now you say oil price spikes have no influence.????

Be careful what you wish for. With the current state of our propaganda system, previously known as education system, I'm afraid even Chuck would come out even worse off than he went in. And that is really saying something.

I would like to see their numbers, the carbon tax is present in almost every stage of grain (food) production.
              - carbon tax for mining the ore
              - carbon tax to smelt iron for manufacturing equipment
              - carbon tax to truck equipment to dealership
              - No tax to seed
              - carbon tax to mine fertilizer
              - carbon tax to produce fertilizer
              - carbon tax for trucking fertilizer
              - carbon tax to produce chemicals
              - carbon tax to truck chemical to retailer
              - no tax to combine
              - carbon tax to elevator if commercial trucking
              - carbon tax from elevator to buyer
              - carbon tax to truck from food processor to grocery store
              - carbon tax on every building for heating or cooling that is involved.
              - carbon tax on all parts.

I realize this is for cereals, canola, and pulses, once fruits, vegetables, pork, beef, poultry, dairy and fish are averaged in the carbon tax may be less especially if it is imported.

However the carbon tax being responsible for less than 1/4 of a per cent seems low to me, I'm not questioning their math, but I'd like to see their methodology.

None of you make mention of the increase in oil prices because of supply and demand and resulting higher energy prices as a driver of inflation!

The increase in energy prices also has a multiplier effect. And compared to the carbon tax portion, a much greater multiplier.

Isn't it time to be honest and take your blinders off?

The Liberals brought in the Carbon tax to artificially inflate the price of fossil fuels and logically reduce demand.

But that doesn't effect inflation in the woke world?

And that caused global inflation? Personally I will stick to my theory that the climate has has the biggest influence on food prices.Any farmer that markets his own grain should know that.

What, 10 maybe 20 cents of wheat in a 5 dollar loaf of bread, 30 dollar steak and we get 3 bucks, we don’t really matter until North Americans get hungry!
