It was designed to reduce carbon emissions which every industrialized country is trying to do.
It makes alternative lower carbon emmison options more attractive.
Even Alberta and Saskatchewan are moving towards lower emissions and have their own large emmiiters carbon tax system.
There is a cost to reducing emisssions. Crypto's plan will also cost more.
Increasing carbon emissions and climate change also have a cost.

You keep telling us they are already the cheapest options. Why would they need government market manipulation to make them attractive?
You really can't decide how many S's, I's or M's should be in emissions, in one post you have tried emmisions, emmissions, emisssions, emmiiters. Perhaps you should stick with calling it the more accurate moniker of plant food, it is easier to spell.
Since when are increased crop yields, drought tolerance, and greening of the earth considered a cost?
EVs are currently not the lowest cost option although they will close that gap soon. Wind and solar are some of the lowest cost generation sources in the world.
And drought, heat and increased extreme weather events are not improving yields are they? The exact opposite!
But then you are the guy who claims we are going to run out of CO2 and that cooling and an ice age is a bigger worry than human caused global warming! LOL
Thanks for the grocery list of climate change denier myths and distortions!

So you now refer to increased yields from CO2 as being a myth? Aren't you the guy who keeps talking about believing in science? Field of science claims increased CO2 does not increase crop yields?
You deny all of the peer-reviewed literature regarding the beneficial effects of CO2 on crop yields, drought tolerance, and greening of the earth?
Can you provide even a single example of crop yields declining during the era of " global warming " ?
I see you are slowly changing your mantra. You now claim wind and solar are some of the lowesr cost generation sources. That's a big difference from your previous claims that they are the lowest cost electricity. Because as it turns out, the cost of generation and the cost to the consumer are not the same thing, are they? If they were, you would have long since provided examples of wind and solar not resulting in the highest cost electricity to the consumer.

Yes they are stumped! LOL They are agitated about the risk of a new ice age instead of human caused global warming and climate change!
From the International Energy Agency
https://www.iea.org/reports/renewables-2022/executive-summary
Solar PV’s installed power capacity is poised to surpass that of coal by 2027, becoming the largest in the world. Cumulative solar PV capacity almost triples in our forecast, growing by almost 1 500 GW over the period, exceeding natural gas by 2026 and coal by 2027. Annual solar PV capacity additions increase every year for the next five years. Despite current higher investment costs due to elevated commodity prices, utility-scale solar PV is the least costly option for new electricity generation in a significant majority of countries worldwide. Distributed solar PV, such as rooftop solar on buildings, is also set for faster growth as a result of higher retail electricity prices and growing policy support to help consumers save money on their energy bills.

Why are you comparing installed capacity? You already know that the solar capacity factor in a place like germany is 10%.
rooftop solar on buildings, is also set for faster growth as a result of higher retail electricity prices and growing policy support Right in your very own cut and paste, it acknowledges the higher costs which have resulted from higher renewables. And the necessity for policy support.
Do you even read this propaganda before you paste it?
