When a contrast from the distinct pictures I posted about. We had Lowe's of -20, eyes not much better than that. Ground was freezing, nearly a foot of snow on the ground. Now the snow is basically all gone. The mud is drying up. Back in the field again.
There is still some crop out in the area, looks like they will get their second chance.

Catching up on Agriville today. Sorry no pictures. It was interesting to read the adventures harvesting clover.
I grew clovers in the late 80's during the times of the set aside programs in the USA. I grew double cut red clover. I swathed it and 40 acres took a week of combining with the old Versatile 5000. Go out at 1pm and quit at 5pm . Very difficult to thresh seed out of the bells. Had to be bone dry. Combine would be covered in dust 5 inches thick. Always had to watch for fire. Did harvest about 300 lbs/acre and sold for $1.35/lb. Second year yield was about 80 lbs/acre and the price dropped to about 35 cents.
I also grew some sweet clover which was a crop from hell to harvest. It was combined with the hulls on and i got enough to fill a 12x16 wood bin from about 15 acres. In true farmer fashion i refused 85cents /lb and held out until the next fall for 15 cents
