Laterre.ca learned from reliable sources that Hydro-Quebec should launch a project of Internet high speed by using its vast electric wire network.
This technology is already used in Spain and elsewhere in Europe. In France, one calls this way of making the “transmission current on line” or CPL.
This innovation will possibly allow all the residents of Quebec, even in the remote areas , to have access to Internet high speed. For the moment, the CPL is testing in a residential district of Boucherville.
Recent work made it possible to circumvent the obstacles which are the transformers which could have blocked the data transmission. Hydro-Quebec should publish very soon an article on this subject in its internal review Hydro-Press.
