    WTO?

There is a lot of talk and speculation about what is happening at the world trade talks and how it might affect Canadian agriculture? The CWB and supply management are two topics that seem to be getting a lot of play here in Canada?
The Liberals seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths on these ones? Saying they support the single desk for at least part of the country and in the meantime saying they might need to make some changes! What is with that?
They seem to be waffling fairly bad on the supply management thing too? Tell the dairy farmers one thing then have the negotiators make comments about how we need to be ready to deal? That sounds reassuring?
I read one commentary in the National Post where the writer claimed in the big picture Canada was going to win very big in this trade deal and if they had to sacrifice a few archaic farm programs to get ahead then it was a necessity? Apparently this deal will open up a vast market for Canadian manufactured products and other commodities!
Now I wonder how our leaders will deal with this one? Will they sell the farmers down the river to benifit the city slickers? Maybe a dumb question...

You already know the answer cowman. The Liberals are fully prepared to write off rural Canada to win the urban vote. In most ways, they already have.
