Nice post f_s. Did PMPM's office send that to you to put up on here? Where have you been? There was a massive spike in trading before Ralphies announcement and then the values skyrocketed. It is amazing that you would post that Liberal apologist stuff on here with the people that read this site. Some people made a s%#% load of money that afternoon and all you can say is that the RCMP would just be wasting our money? Unbelievable - no, believable for someone who thinks Martin is the economic saviour of Canada.

    Happy New Year.

If Ralph is guilty, lots of time to investigate him after the election? But consider this: How many people work in his department? How many had access to this information and could have tipped off a buddy in the stockmarket? Is Goodale responsible for every crook who might work for him?
Like I said if it is determined that an actual crime occured then go after them, but it really isn't fair to do this in the middle of an election? Like waiting three weeks isn't possible? I suspect somebody in the upper management of the RCMP has an axe to grind!

Yes Cowman, I believe he is responsible, just like Paul was responsible for knowing what was happening in Quebec. How would you feel if this happened to your MP? Would you want them possibly getting back in because nobody prosecuted during the campaign?

horse I will get my $400.00 which I will donate to a cause I feel is worthwhile, however, it certainly isn't a rebate of a portion of the $55 thousand in income tax I paid this year !!! I would love to the portion of my income tax back that Martin and crew have wasted which would likely be one hell of a lot more than my $400 share of Alberta's wealth which we certainly don't need to thank Martin for, nor is it a social program !!!!

The point here is an RCMP investigation of a complaint? Now who complained? Is it a valid complaint or not? It couldn't wait three weeks before they announced it? If the investigation shows Goodale did something wrong he'll be gone whether he gets back in or not?
Emerald: Either you need a better accountant or else you are making WAYYY too much money!

Some of you talk like someone got caught cheating on a biology exam. This is insider trading we’re talking about here. Martha Stewart went to jail for lying to investigators about insider trading for vastly smaller dollars than what exchanged hands on Nov. 23.
The integrity of stock exchanges depend on enforcement of these laws. Otherwise, people invest their money elsewhere and Canadians suffer the consequences. Little old ladies who invest in things like income trusts get bilked out of thousands of dollars.

Millions of dollars more than usual changed hands that afternoon. Can you imagine if you sold those shares early in the afternoon to some insider who knew they were going to be a lot more valuable the next day? It’s not just an NDP complaint that’s being investigated, trading patterns were so out of the ordinary that the RCMP CAN’T IGNORE this. The trading volume of (Medisys) was up 3400%, (an income trust run by Paul Martin’s private doctor). “According to CTV, the CEO of TSX group purchased $759,000 worth of stock hours before the announcement, and made $100,000 in profit the next day.”

Given the Liberal track record it looks more like not all of the “bad apples” are out of Paul’s office. Sure, some of these trading volumes might just be pure speculation, or extremely lucky co-incidence. But, if there was a leak, then more Liberals and their insider friends who profited should be going to jail.

Wow, Sheila Copps sure isn’t sounding like a Liberal apologist now! Interesting article and thanks for the link f_s.

                  Question for Moderator Joyce:
Is there a way to make those links active so readers don’t have to cut and paste them?

Well I don't think the RCMP investigation is implicating Ralph Goodale in anyway? It is a general investigation into what happened and whether any laws were broken?
I find it interesting that this election will probably turn dirty real quick? Now personally I don't think that is how it should go. I would like to hear what the various parties have to say on how they intend to govern the country instead of accusations about who is a crook or who has a secret agenda or who is the biggest liar?
Do Canadians need smoke and mirrors when they are trying to decide who will do the best job?
The facts are out there. Some people in the Liberal party have been corrupt and crooked (I doubt if they all are?). The NDP has propped up the crooks...saying the end justifies the means? And yes Stephen Harper has said some pretty right wing things in the past?
If the Liberals say: We had some problems in the past but we've got it cleaned up now and here is what we are proposing for tommorrow...would you believe them?
If The Conservatives say: In the past former parties that make up our new party had some policies that we do not agree with and here is our new position...would you believe them?
This election is all about trust and believing what the politicians are saying is true? I don't think we need to have negative ads. It takes away from real information needed to make an informed decision?
