Well emerald you may not carry a card but it is pretty apparent where your politics lie? Which is a good thing in my opinion.
I personally don't understand how anyone in Alberta could support the Liberal Party...and definitely not the NDP! The Liberal Party of Canada has been the biggest failure of any party to ever rule this country. Now I will admit Mulrooney wasn't any angel but he did some good things...capital gains excemption and free trade...are two of his better policies.
I find it shocking that any Albertan would vote for a party that stold billions right out of their pockets through the NEP? They must be mad.

One must also be mindful of the fact that Mulrony was a Quebec lawyer, leader of the the "progressive" (liberal) conservative party!!

We have not had a real conservative government in this country for so long that we have nothing to gauge by or have reference to. Or be "scared" of.

Anyone that can stand beside the leaders of the Liberal party and smile and defend everything that has happened in the past can in NO WAY be considered a good honest prairie boy!! Gooddale is up to his hair roots in the endless corruption in the Liberal party.

cowman, I would think that any reasonable Albertan would want to see honest government, and one that treats all regions equally. I am surprised at the number of people who plan on supporting the Green Party for godsakes .....what a wasted vote at a time when we desparately need a change of government.

Well the green party is a protest vote? We don't seem to have the Rhinsaurous party anymore, so we need some goofy party to protest the process?
I guess they would be the best reason around NOT to have proportional representation? Nothing like a few nuts around for comic relief but could you see that in a close minority government situation?...why the inmates might be running the asylum!

In this constituency in the last Provincial election the Green Party candidate came in second !!!
Interestingly enough I haven't heard key environmentalists ( aka Martha Kostuch) voicing their support to the Green Party !
I do think that more young people are going to vote this election but that may not bode well for the Conservatives as young folks may be impressed by Martin's promise of free post secondary education.
The key thing to that promise is the FREE education is for low income students, and you can bet the bar will be set pretty low to define low income when it gets to the fine print !
I just hope that we don't get rotten weather on election day because that alone could turn the tide in some areas of the country.

I think Martin was pretty smart to offer the tuition thing? Might get a few kids out to vote and probably a lot of parents? I wonder just how good he will be at keeping this promise?
I also wonder if the federal government picks up half the tab for the first and last year of education, how long it will take for the universities and colleges to up the fees? Sort of like when the government gives farmers a subsidy the price of fertilizer/spray goes up the next day!
It sure seems to me both Martin and Harper are getting pretty loose with the check book? At least Harper can say he's going to scrap some pricey expenses like the gun registry, which might free up some money? Now Paul on the other hand was promising the world before this election even started...how can he swing all these costs? I would suggest the answer is pretty simple...he won't keep even half his promises! But who can blame him for trying...when the alternative to winning might be a vacation at the Stony Plain Hilton!!!

cowman, don't insult Stony Plain !!!!!
Actually there was a program on about the free tuition issue, and apparently the key is that students have to claim half of the tuition as income so they really aren't any better off.
