    Is the tide turning?

Duceppe went out of his way to attack Harper last night? It is pretty apparent the BLOC knows something is happening in Quebec? Like farmers son said: The people of Quebec know when to vote strategically!
Duceppes attacks on Harper were pretty shaky? Somehow he tried to blame an illegal act by the federal Liberals on the previous Conservative government! Hello Gilles? The Liberals gave the illegal funds... not the Conservatives!
The "experts" now say Conservatives are competitive in about 6 Quebec ridings and could split the federalist vote in several others. If this move to the Conservatives snowballs who knows what might happen?
One poll had the Conservatives at 22% and the Liberals at 19%, another poll had the split as high as Conservatives 25%, Liberals 13%!
Better get those paper shredders up and running!

...the mood coming out of the eastern canadian media definitely supports there is going to be a change...maybe even a conservative majority ... cowman is right look for quebecers to be increasingly interested in their conservative candidates...quebec would not like to be left off the cabinet table ...

The tide sure looks like it’s turned, and as the Liberals go down in the polls, we’ve seen their tendency to abandon any sense of honour and integrity as they hurl mud out of their hole (from under their rock?). The latest round of Liberal attack ads, with the ominous drumming in the background are truly despicable. They’ve stooped (crawled/slithered) to new lows, and even the media are starting to take notice Did anyone see the clip of Mike Duffy (CTV journalist) hauling John Duffy (Liberal strategist) on the mat over newest Liberal attack ads.

Quote: "You were in here earlier when we were off the air on a commercial break trying to intimidate me into not going back to that ad," said (Mike) Duffy, his voice rising in indignation.
"We will not be intimidated. We will do our jobs as journalists."
The Liberal strategist appeared taken aback.
      "Why Michael. . . " he stammered.
When he asked who in the party conceived of the ad, the CTV host described it as "hinting at the Canadian Forces or something like what we saw in Chile with Pinochet."
      ......
"You're asking why I raise this?" Mike Duffy replied.
"No . . ." John Duffy replied meekly.
"Because this has to do with integrity, it has to do with the people who would want to lead our country," the host continued. "This is a perfectly legitimate issue to be raised by journalists . . .we have every right to raise it, we have a public responsibility to raise it." Unquote

To see the 4.4 Mb video: http://www.conservativelife.com/videos/duffy.wmv

These ads was released (by the Liberals), to the internet and handed to broadcasters for news purposes (not spending precious advertising dollars)
The attack ad in question goes like this:

“Stephen Harper actually announced he wants to increase military presence in our cities. Canadian cities. Soldiers with guns. In our cities. In Canada. We did not make this up.”
      - committee to re-elect Paul Martin, 2006

The story was aired on CBC radio this am. You can hear it at (starts about 9 minutes into the broadcast).

Googled and couldn't find any more information. No mention on CGC website.

There is a story today at www.statpub.com

It appears the durum was "rejected" at some time last year because of contained too much ochratoxin.

The importer was arrested trying to sell the durum after blending it with uncontaminated material.

            The link states:

"The wheat comes from a shipload of Canadian durum which was seized by authorities in Bari LAST YEAR because it contained more than three times the allowed level of ochratoxin." (my capitalization added)

Remember the deer-poop session the Board had? Now,ochratoxin

What is the CWB doing to be proactive about this problem?

Interesting press conference with Jason Kenney and Monte Solberg this morning on their view of the Liberal ads, which I understand have been pulled but were running on the french networks.
