Why SASKFARMER is banned from site.

Just a note for some reason saskfarmer is banned from the site.
it must be that he sticks up for farmers and is thinking out side off the box.
Or he made the Chemical and Fert & seed companys mad so they thretened to cut off Agriville.
    Some public post.

    BEWARE!

thank you for clearing up the the fog and explaining the reason for your assisted exit. I never before understood the statement "thinking out side off the box." Clear concise comunication like that always eliminates confusion and miss-understanding. Again I say thank you.

Well I hope the powers that be reconsider. You actually bring a viewpoint that I think many might find interesting.
I would think it could have been due to how you presented your opinion? The problem with being overly agressive is it tends to turn some other people off and they quit the site...thus taking away their views?
Even though we have some people on here who go against the grain, I believe it is always good to hear all sides? You don't have to agree with them...in fact it can be all kinds of fun roasting them!
You wouldn't believe all the abuse I take over on the beef side, because I don't buy into the "tree hugger" group...but that is all right...I try my best to suffer in silence! And besides I have a fairly thick old hide!
Maybe if you tried to tone it down a bit agri-ville might reconsider?

I wonder if it has something to do with Monsanto. There was a discussion going on about Roundup vs Clearout41. I noticed a week ago this topic was missing from the topics area. Unless I'm blind and can't see it. Whats that all about????????

Cowman is more on the mark as to why certain threads and/or posts don't remain on the site. If you get the weekly update on what is new on the site, you may have noticed the following:

"The Agri-ville.com forums are provided for the purpose friendly educational discussion, to exchange ideas and gain new information from those who wish to share it. Please be respectful when making posts to any forum in Agri-ville and please take the time to read the Community Center Guidelines."

Cowman is also right when he states that good discussion is one of the intentions of the site and the chat rooms. I for one like to hear varying view points because it helps me to gain a better understanding of an issue. Problems occur when posts become personal i.e. attacking the person posting and NOT the idea and swearing is NOT acceptable at any time.

This is a public site where all views are valid, even though we may not agree with them. The aim is to bring people to the site to exchange information and dialogue.

It is great to see regular posters and brand new ones. Keep it clean and about the issue and there shouldn't be any problems.

Well first of all let me say I am somewhat shocked that some of you might see me as not being soft spoken and always benign and generous in my posts...whatever...I'll try to get over it! LOL
Now while I will admit I like the rough and tumble and I dearly love drawing someone in right where I want them...I think you should always leave the person an out? Sometimes a "Well you might be right, but" or "Okay, I can understand how you might think that, however" goes a long way to keeping the conversation civilized...and keeps the person posting...so you can get him later!
And I will admit over the course of a post while I am "educating" the misled...often I get a little gem of knowledge or am forced to consider how the other person thinks! And really isn't that why we communicate with other people?

Sorry I never new that this site was just for people who sit their and let the market and companys do what they want. The farmer is suppose to just lay down and take it. Well to me if that is what this site is all about then why would any true farmer visit it. And if it is ok for others to cut down Saskfarmer on a hourly basis for his views I guess then we really know who won! Congratulations Monsanto Bayer Cargil Agrium etc.

Linda is right on the mark. I enjoy the dialogue and the opportunity to learn from others through their sharing experience and also learn what works in the many different areas of Canada where folks that visit this site are from.

There is no need to cut down an individual for their views, even if they are off the wall. I am fairly intrenched in my view on a lot of things, but over the years I find that getting into heated discussions over politics or breeds of cattle just isn't productive.

Hopefully we can continue to have all the regulars and many new folks on this site, and not get into cussing, off color comments etc. and above all, leave personal disagreements off the site.

It is NEVER okay for anyone to run people down personally. Debating is one thing (even heated debates) but personal attacks are another thing altogether. Often in the heat of debate we say things we wouldn't necessarily say if we weren't steaming mad or passionate about our point of view.

When communicating via a web-based medium it is harder to know where the person is coming from because we don't have the visual clues to go along with the words. Communication is 7% verbal and the rest is non-verbal.

Many, many people have posted their views time and again stating that they are fed up with how producers are facing rising input costs and slim and sometimes non-existant margins.

Go to the homepage of this site and you will see who is responsible for this site. It is kept going in order to give all of us a place to come and exchange information.

Sometimes it helps to walk away from the computer to give yourself a chance to think things through. I have taken many a walk in order to sort my thoughts out before posting.

I will urge everyone to keep it clean and about the topic, not the person.

Another way to look at it is that it is not about what is being said, it is about how it is being said.

Why when one is cut off and they email the moderators there is no answer back.
the email is done again and no answer back.
there has never been a reply as to why SASKFARMER was cut off and one would be gladdly accepted.
Also an explanation why the talk about monsanto VS Clearout 41 was taken off and why.
these are simple questions that need an answer.

                              I would suggest that you e-mail mayor@agri-ville.com

Depending on which moderator you e-mailed and when you sent it, the person may just not have seen your e-mail yet.

Many times large corporations are mentioned on the site and there hasn't been a problem. Not having seen the post about the Clearout, I can only guess that it might have been the way it was said versus what was said.

I hope you get an answer to your query.
