    Leadership Election

I am posting the following information for those of you that may not be aware of the voting process for the upcoming leadership election.
I urge each of you to pick up a $5.00 membership and help choose the new premier of our province. If you aren't a PC, vote as you choose in the next provincial election, but do take advantage of the first opportunity in 14 years to choose who will lead our current government .

The Advance Poll for the first ballot is on Monday, November 20th. Polling stations are open from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM. You need to produce two pieces of ID plus your PC party membership, which you can purchase at the door. The ID should include one photo ID and one item that shows an address within the constituency.

The first ballot vote is on Saturday November 25th, with polls open from 9:00 AM- 7:00 PM.

If a second ballot is necessary the Advanced Poll will be November 29th from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and the voting day for the second ballot will be December 2, polls open from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

I realize that if you already have a PC membership you likely received this information in the mail along with the location of polling stations within your constituency, however, those of you that wish to vote and do not know dates, times etc. may find the information useful.

Although I am supporting a particular candidate I won't use this space to campaign, just to encourage you to let your voice be heard.

Thank you. I did not know about the advance poll and will take advantage of that opportunity to vote for our next premier.

Got to get in my $5 "protest vote" for Morton! A waste of time in reality but want to add my voice to the fact I am not happy with how this government has been run and how "Un-Conservative" most of the candidates are!
And meanwhile old Ralph continues to try to spend up anything left in the coffers so the next leader will look like a cheapskate! His last little shot at the dogs who ousted him?

I am concerned with the announcement of mega spending on the eve of electing a new leader. One has to wonder where if anywhere the decision on what to throw money at is debated.
Spending millions on recreational facilities when there are highways in dire need of repair makes no sense to me, but when Calgary and Edmonton holler they get dollars. All the more reason to elect a premier that appreciates the contribution made by rural Alberta.
