Funny how our country seems to find the least qualified to be the commander in chief also! Big shout out to Ontario and Quebec for the idiot we have for the last 8 years.
Trump doesn't accept election losses and will use his power to remain in office as long possible. He hopefully will be convicted of trying to over turn election results.
Because its very clear that this is what he tried to do and several of his lawyers who were co-accused have already plead guilty and accepted a plea deal and will testify against him.
Lock him up!

Trump is certainly a fascinating study.
Very early on he brought out fear in the easy to fear. The gullible woke.
Even in Canada.
He had a few good concepts and shocked people when he wasn't afraid to speak them.
From the beginning he created enthusiasm or disgust.
He seems more unhinged since the election and raises some serious flags.
Fascinating, his death grip on the GOP.
He illustrates the change in how politics is done. A lesson to be heeded for us all.
All spectrums are using the same tactics. Climate pushers as much as any.
Right or left differentiation a distraction for agenda. Hitler comparisons fair but this isn't Weimar Germany. History does repeat however, simply because the animal human hasn't changed.
A study of their republics' history shows he is not the first colorful or dangerous participant. A man of his times, like it or not.
I remain to have faith in their system. And recognize there is nothing I can do. It's not my country.
We should hold Poilievre to a higher standard. We must evict our own train wreck.Last edited by blackpowder; Nov 24, 2023, 10:08.

It's not that those who support Trump like him or think he's a great leader, but rather they fear that the extreme left wingnuts within the Dems. will take total control of the White House.
In their minds Trump is the only GOP candidate capable of keeping them in check.
I personally don't think Biden will beat Trump in 2024 even if Donnie ends up being found guilty.
The moderates within the USA are becoming fewer and fewer. Crazies at both ends.
As for us Canadians we need big change, not enough Canadians pulling their weight. Sorry to say it's all over within Canada, not just the East as some of you seem to be hung up on.
In my opinion the alternative doesn't possess the qualifications or know how to make a shit load of a difference if he becomes P.M.
Easy to talk tough when your not the one steering the ship.
It's not good.

Trump will be convicted as the evidence is rock solid and the plea deals with the co accused are proof of that.
I see some of the Trump supporters are promoting the same vote rigging bullshit in Canada.
No doubt if Crypto wins the vote will have been rigged! LOL
Canada has a far better independent electoral system than the US system which is full of gerrymandering and is a disgrace for a "democracy".

It's complicated but that democratic disgrace doesn't hold over half the nation without Senate representation.
Electoral college gives a degree of sway to each state.
Our system is the disgrace.
Power splitting influenced by 3 party positioning. First past post. No Senate. A national party in the House representing only one privileged province.
Let's clean up our own yard.
Some lessons in the neighbor's yard for us.

We need some sort of proportional representation that reflects the will of voters. I agree first past the post doesn't do it and is an archaic system. Many countries use some sort of proportional system. And it works well.
And having the same number of senators from North Dakota with a population of 780,000 compared to Texas with a population of 30 million is completely unrepresentative of voters.

The only way I can see to enact equal representation s to divide the country into divisions according to (real) economic contributions to the country. No geographical area, or population size, or arbitrary provincial boundaries.

"Economic contributions"! So the richer provinces per capita will have more votes? That will never fly even in your wildest dreams!
