Here is some real truth.
Renewable electricity is the lowest cost new electricity generated on the planet and the wind and the sun provide a free source of unlimited fuel that is not controlled by a cartel that cuts supply and raises prices.
Some of the renewable bids in Alberta were between $30 and $43 MWh. Which shows that they fit in at the low end of Lazard's LCOE price ranges.

Solar PV utility scale $24 - $96 per MWh
Solar plus storage utility scale $46-$102 per MWh
Wind Onshore $24 - $75 per MWh
Gas Peaking $115 - $221 per MWh
Nuclear $141 - $221 per MWh??

Abstract
We present a case study and analysis of Alberta’s Renewable Electricity Program, one of a suite of
policies implemented between 2015 and 2019 to increase the share of renewable generation in the
Canadian province’s fossil-fuel-dominated electricity system. The program consisted of a series of
reverse auctions for contracts-for-differences which provided successful proponents with a project-
specific guaranteed price for power generation. We find that the Renewable Electricity Program was
successful in three important ways. First, it contracted for new renewable generation at prices in the range of CA$30 to CA$43/MWh (US$23 to US$33/MWh), well below expectations and among the lowest procurement costs globally at the time.Last edited by chuckChuck; Nov 25, 2023, 07:35.

So I hope you Albertan's are enjoying the higher electricity prices. Its too bad that the blame lies primarily with utilities that purposely cut supply to raise prices.
In Alberta when a lower cost alternative sources of generation are available some consumers want to choose the higher cost alternatives and support cartel like behaviour?
Even the premier thinks this is wrong, but on agrisilly the freedom fighters want more of it?Go figure?
