Short of Doctors and Nurses....SO, how do we FORCE people to take those careers? No foreigners either...Please give your ideas...

Create more training spaces. Because many people who apply don't get accepted into medicine even though they have the marks, because there is not enough spots for them.

Make more training spots available for nurses instead of the industry protecting their jobs(pay)
everyone knows young people who couldn’t get into nursing with good marks because it is too competitive for the few spots there are

Maybe start by changing the pay scheme for doctors. Fee for service overloads the system with tests and gives stopwatch service.
We seem to have civil servants mandated with running a govt service like a business. A conglomerate of oxymorons.
More money spent the wrong way just wastes it faster.

It is many doctors who prefer the fee for service model and tend to reject salaried positions in community clinics. And when nurse practitioners are given more authority for routine medical checkups the doctors complain like hell.
