Why are pickups such a suburban status symbol when few families need that much car?

In my travels I came across a fellow that was a sub commander for many years. He had absolutely no worries about using nuclear power. He said it is very safe. He also thought in our lifetime they will find a way to recycle spent fuel.

If nuclear SMRs are so good and so cheap for electricity why aren't there some in Canada and North America already? Whats the holdup because we have had decades to build them.

We have numerous older larger reactors but nobody really wants to build the big ones anymore because of the cost. And SMRs are the most expensive option because you lose the economies of scale. Some of them are similar in size to large wind farms.

CC obviously Icebreakers, Subs, and many other small reactors have been designed but Governments refuse to allow widespread adoption.

Yet we will chop up our wildlife, cover 1000’s of acres with Chinese Solar Panels… with taxpayers subsidies… Canadian Debt $1 Trillion… US Federal Debt $34 Trillion.. $100 Trillion Global Debt… and $100 Trillion more to apply your suicidal “Green Agenda”???

Many Blessings! What is the point of your post??? We need to honour those who died for our Freedom… not desecrate their brave sacrificial service to Humanity!!!

You better cover all your windows. Stop driving. Stop spraying. And get rid of your cats because of all the birds you kill Tom!

And what does remembrance and supporting our veterans have to do with nuclear electricity Tom?

So you don't support our veterans?
How could anyone be anti-rememberance day.
Are you a military veterans denier?

Did I do it right? I've been learning from the best.

CC, I don’t allow hunting, and feed the birds all winter.

Your Humorous hypocritical words are exposing your apparent arrogance.

Just waiting for chuckles to que up and quote Guilbeault or Trudeau. Then state what does Toyota know.

Isn't it funny how credible source seems to depend on the message, and not the credentials?
I guess you have to "believe" in science to understand how this works.

Toyota is a leader in hybrid technology and is planning the release of numerous long range plug in hybrids starting in 2026 using newer solid state batteries in partnership with panasonic.

Toyota also has hydrogen cars on the road.

PHEVs will mostly be running on EV which accomplishes the goal of reducing emissions.

SMRs have not been developed before now because we had cheap coal and gas. Personally I would have no problem hanging my hat on natural gas. Relatively cheap, abundant, flexible. Put them where we need them and avoid expensive transmission costs.
