I am trying to find the words to address this topic and just get pissed off when the Chucks of the world spew the usual baiting stuff to get everyone riled but really there’s a lot of us who love and accept friends and family who come out as lgbtq but stop short of condoning life altering medical procedures for children whom aren’t mature enough to operate a car nor be legally able to live on their own. Why should the state take away my parental rights when I am being responsible? You bemoan how awful residential schools were native kids but think it’s acceptable for everyone else today. It seems like politicians have to disagree/misrepresent in public the other parties policies instead of ever wanting to congratulate, suggest small improvements or work together to try?? to get it right. Wasn’t it Trudeau sr who said the state has no business in people’s bedrooms? Kind of ironic when the state weasels itself into the people’s personal lives. The vast majority of parents support their children regardless of gender or sexual orientation and just want them to be safe and happy. When they reach 18 they can do whatever they want anyway, regardless of parents.

But In Alberta, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick they want to put "parental rights" over the well being of children which violates the charter and puts already vulnerable transgender and LGBQT children at a higher risk of self harm and mental health issues.

They did all this without consulting transgender kids and families and the experts who use accepted medical practices to care for them.

The vast majority of parents know all about their children and support their kids differences.

But in Alberta the "Libertarian" government is going to take away the liberties of LGBQT+ kids and their families to choose whats best for themselves.

Apparently the Albertan libertarians aren't really libertarians! Surprise, surprise!

They want to tell families how to live their lives according to their socially conservative values.

Crypto Poilievere has ordered his MPs not to comment on Alberta's charter of rights breaking proposed policy on sex ed and transgender kids.

He knows that these kinds of regressive discriminatory policies don't work for him and threaten to derail his next campaign.

How does Mellissa Lantsman the Deputy CPC leader, openly gay and married to another woman, manage to almost disappear on this and other social justice issues? Is she that weak that she puts up with silence on this issue when she is a proud member of the LGBQT+ community?
