The big 3 make almost all their profit off of luxury trucks and SUVs that are priced higher than most EVs.
But according to the EV naysayers its only rich people who afford to over spend on vehicles!
Driving down a Saskatchewan highway its looks like there must be a lot of rich truck drivers who have been oversold a rapidly depreciating vehicle with the highest cost of ownership of almost any vehicle on the road.
Is it time to line up the idling $80,000 truck for a box of Tim Bits for breakfast?
Elon Musk and Tesla are also seeing lower returns as EV competition will reduce their profits and lower the price of a Tesla.
Like we have never seen start ups of anything come and go before? And the auto industry hasn't changed a lot in the last hundred years?

For rural Canadians… doing productive work growing and maintaining infrastructure… EV transportation is not practical, as safe for workers… or about to change because you get “warm and fuzzies “ trolling us.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over… but expecting a different result.
Go troll CBC CC… they are your kind!
Cheers

This article on CTV news caught my eye: “Electric school buses finally make headway in the U.S. but hurdles still stand.” From the article: “Even with the fuel and maintenance savings of an electric bus, they cost two to three times more than diesel.” Range of course is also an issue. Another case of where reality kicks the computer models in the ass.Last edited by Hamloc; Feb 27, 2024, 13:49.

Nobody is forcing you to buy an EV. You can keep your overpriced jacked up smokin monster truck with the furry dice that is inversely proportional to your brain and dick size.

"Osborne said three of the seven buses needed complete battery replacements within the first five years, and in one case a battery started malfunctioning after just two years.
“The battery replacements on our three BYD buses each took 80 days to accomplish and were out of service for the duration of the replacement,” Osborne said, adding that the city has also experienced issues with the BYD-made bus chargers as well, noting that the chargers started failing after less than two years of use.
“All seven BYD buses have received full propulsion component changes — including the drive motors, reduction gearboxes and hubs," as well, Osborne explained.
“We have also had a fleet-wide replacement of compressors and high voltage junction boxes, as well as numerous power inverters, modules, coolers and oil pumps.”
"In 2017 the city estimated that the electric fleet would be able to drive about 233 kilometres a day in the summer months, but Osborne said the electric busses only average about 110 kilometres a day in the winter months, whereas a regular diesel bus can travel 420 kilometres a day."
