Ever wonder what it would be like if we had an election campaign where we could debate the merits and positive attributes of the candidates, instead of the current state of affairs where all we have left is to sling mud about your candidate being even more reprehensible than my candidate.

I've never quite accepted the saying that we get the government we deserve, but when you look at debates such as this, maybe that saying has a lot of merit.
