“Assuming all renewable development locates on (some of Alberta’s best) land, the percentage of (such) agricultural land loss is estimated to be less than one per cent by 2041,” says the Alberta Utilities Commission report, released Wednesday.

And we all know most of the renewable energy installation is occurring on lower quality land in southern Alberta.

Meanwhile the Alberta tar sand rentention ponds and coal mines are leaking contaminants into the water systems of Alberta and thousands of suspended, abandoned and orphaned oil and gas wells are a risk to the ground water in Alberta with saltwater and hydrocarbon contamination. But the chronic complainers turn their eyes away and talk about solar panels in texas? Go figure!

Apparently the only time some Albertan's are concerned about the environment is when it involves renewable energy! Good grief Charlie Brown.

Oil and gas facilities use more good farmland and are a high risk to the environment. Renewables a much lower risk.

So says the Alberta Utilities Commission report commissioned by Danny Smith and the UCP. But of course some farmers on this site don't read anything and don't listen to the news.
