"BE IT RESOLVED that SARM will ensure that any policies that unduly target naturally occurring CO2 will be deemed as illogical and dangerous. We move that Saskatchewan remove itself from any national or international agreements that reference net zero."
"Targeting only naturally ocurring CO2 will be deemed illogical and dangerous" How so SARM? Because nobody is targeting just naturally occuring CO2!
What about man made sources? Not a mention, even though we all know that those are human caused and a much bigger issue.
The net zero goal is to reduce all greenhouse gas emissions where possible. And it's not just CO2, it's nitrous oxide and methane. And many Ag industry groups are working on research to reduce GHG emissions as much as possible while still being as productive as possible.
How can you champion or request a credit for sequestering carbon, but then go on to say CO2 is not a problem or a pollutant?
Burning fossil fuels, releases large amounts of CO2 and other pollutants. Methane and nitrous oxide both come from natural and human sources.
And every province including Alberta and Saskatchewan have plans to do reduce emissions.
