One MAJOR difference between the battery boondoggle and the abandoned wells is that gubmint has already taken in a lot of revenue in the form of royalties and other taxes from the wells. Thus far the battery boondoggle has been ALL costs and no revenue. Another major difference is that the orphan well fund is provincial and the royalties are provincial. The battery boondoggle has taxpayers in the west on the hook for battery plants in ontario and quebec. This why the administrators need to ban chuck from this site now otherwise he will drive the intelligent off of here.

You want to cancel me! LOL
That's not a libertarian view of the world is it? What happened to free speech? Is that only for right wingers?
But nuclear will run a coffee machine and get rid of coal and gas plants, but you are okay with that?

You literally couldn't have chosen a poorer analogy then coffee maker and toast to be solar powered. In a country where breakfast is consumed in the dark for half the year.
I am quite sure that a solar powered coffee maker will be able to tell the difference.

Its just an example so don't get your shorts in a knot.
Change it to an electric drill if it makes you happy.
The wind still blows and the water still runs at night and storage is being used in some systems and being planned for others.
Manitoba, Quebec and BC have large amounts of hydro that works at night.
I will probably install a battery which will cover some our needs when Sask Power renews my contract depending on the price at the time.
All the EVs in development are driving lower cost and better battery options.

Probably sometime in the future, if the the taxpayer and power company will subsidize you, enough, you might install a battery which might cover some of your needs.
It's a good thing it's not a climate emergency, because that is always the right attitude when solving an emergency, ask what is in it for me if I play along.

But you don't mind all the farm subsidies you get every year?
Have you sent them all back Mr. pretend libertarian?
